Students in Maryland are designing 26 quilts to be given to Iraq and Afghanistan Vets. I think this is so wonderful. It is nice to hear good news and very nice to hear kids showing appreciation for veterans! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/01/14/student-group-makes-quilts-wounded-iraq-afghanistan-soldiers/?test=latestnews Where I work, we do Operation Troop Support, cell phones for soldiers, Americanism, food baskets and help various vets in need. Do you do anything to show your appreciation for veterans?

No, I don't do anything directly to show my appreciation, but I should. I send money...the easy thing to do. Pretty soon they're going to start building a new NM veterans museum in Las Cruces. Maybe I'll get off my duff and go see what I can do to support the museum. I'll let you know if I do... But I think it's cool that the kids are doing what they're doing and you're doing what you're doing. When I worked, I was a whole lot more involved in these kinds of things than I am now. Not an excuse, just observation/fact.

Actually monetary help is good too. I am a poor person, so I do the grunt work, the funds are used for things like postage and extra items needed. Money is a great resource for these groups.

I think that is a great idea. One person cant do everything but lots of people sure can do lots!

I plan to keep sending money, but now that you have me going to the VFW, etc., looking for dates, I might as well see if there's something that can be done, they need help, etc. I still am thinking about checking in to the new museum...

it is way too cool to see this. Most colledge students would not give a care but I'm glad to see that some do still care about our vetrens. Thanks for dharing.
