India, although conceded 5 goals yesterday in their second match against Bahrain in AFC 2011 Asian cup football tournament underway at Qatar, made an improved showing by scoring 2 goals against their more fancied opponents and leveling the score in second half. India attacked first and narrowly missed a goal in 3rd minute of the match when the shot from Sunil Cheetri was pushed away by goal keeper for corner kick. The first goal for Bahrain came through penalty kick when their striker was brought down in the box. India leveled immediately through Gourmang Singh within three minutes of Bahrain goal. India lost the advantage and the match in the remaining part of the first half by conceding three goals in quick succession. Bahrain was leading by 4-1 at the end of first half. India played much better in second half. They scored first in the second half through Sunil Cheetri within seven minutes. Bahrain scored their first in the second half and 5th of the match in 77 minute. India thus leveled the scores in second half 1-1 but lost the match 5-2 to Bahrain. I hope they will give still improved performance against much fancied and tournament favorite Soth Korea on 18th Jan.
