How much do You save aside every MONTH?-OR Not?

I noticed there are many households that are not managed to save 1/4 of their income every month. Some would say, it is because they do not have enough MONEY to leave aside because of smaller pay cheque, some say, they have overly hight expenses, some even say, they have to pay off their loans and mortgages which eats up most of their monthly income. SO, WHAT DO YOU SAY??? Do you have any good plans to save aside every MONTH to share with others in Mylot.com?

The bills are mounting, the pay is miserable, the economy if flagging, school fees are up. Nothing is happening in our favor, and I am not making a mountain our of a mole-hill. How to save? The only thing I can save right now is to save my life, and possibly my breath, I guess. But I am almost always open to hear from those who can and have demonstrated a good practical plan, considering all expenses for the entire household. I am OK to cut on anything that is not a necessity. Oh dear, is my internet connection a necessity? I better re-evaluate. If you don't see me online anymore, Jacklyn, write snail mail to me? Cheers!

Whatever plans I make are always disturbed by the utility bills. With electricity bill coming every four months, water every two. and gas needed every six weeks or so, all is well until the times coincide. Then the massive outlay wipes out any savings. Definitely not enough income!

hi petersum, hmm...probably you need to consider increasing the earning power instead of just savings from the SAME hefty amount, since it's eating out your savings.

hi binggaling, First, where are you from? Secondly, utilities bills is everyday, 365 usages. The only way, we can think of is CONTROL the usages. If you have decrease the usages, try maintain it. Even after you have decrease the usage of the utilities BUT the amount is still same/increasing, guess you have to report to the department to investigate the problem. Could be the meter. Good luck

Sad to know even the government cannot do anything about it. I have a feeling it's corruption involved.

I have a system that automatically saves 10 % of my income as soon as I get paid, so I never even see this money. My goal is to save 15 % of my salary every month, but I am not quite there yet. But 10 % of my entire income is pretty okay as well. Oh, and I save like 90 % of my online earnings as well. This really helps too. So do not spend all your online earnings as soon as you get them, and try to automate your regular savings would be my advice!

Hi puccagirl, Assuming you earn 2000 permonth, automatically you save aside 10% (200). Left another 1800 for you to spend. You have a goal to save another 15%( 270-maybe). If you have less expenses and less mortages/bank loans, I think you can save up alot. U have 90% earnings from online...which is extra. :) Good on you.

Nowadays, it is very hard to save money because of the increase of price in everything. Knowing that I won't be able to save much, I invested some of it into a savings plan from an insurance company.

if price increase, you have to increase your earning power. Nothing can be done on this as it is a global issue these days. Food price increase, the gas and natural resources...lifestyles, life expectancy...etc (blah-blah) Insurance is another form of good investment.
