My Chili Experiment

Today I wanted to eat some chili so I grabbed whatever I had in the pantry. I boiled some dried red beans and while waiting for them to 'degas' I browned the ground beef with onion and spices like salt, pepper, chili power, garlic, and cayenne pepper. I then added the beef to the crockpot with a bay leaf and a can of chopped tomatoes and let it sit on high for about an hour while waiting for the beans. After draining the beans I added them to the crockpot along with a 1/2 cup of Frank's hot sauce and let it sit for 5 hours. I just had some with grated cheese over french bread. It was sooo good. What is your favorite chili recipe?

I make mine pretty much the same way you made yours: Beans, ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, chili powder and garlic. I don't add tomatoes and I don't use cayenne pepper, though. The cayenne is too hot for me! Now I'm hungry for chili!

I like to use chili for most of my cooking. There are some dish I found it is okay if there is no chili used but there are some dish that must have chili with it. The dish which I must use chili is bamboo shoot & local fern. I like to cook squid with dry chili. It taste soo good and I even crave for it now.
