Hi wong, Not for 10 years but for a period of about 13 months for me. I did suffer a lot of depression during the days I was sick and ill and some months after it as I was getting somewhat back to normal. Loneliness is the biggest factor. I was all alone in the house - no tv, no computer, no work, nothing just me on the bed and my thoughts... So if that is your scenario, try to cut down on this one. Then I stopped thinking... Thoughts are the biggest hurdles - you want to get rid of the past but keep thinking how to improve or how to change, you want to aim high for future and think oh in the present situation I cannot reach there... The Negativity has to go. Listen to good soft music - never the sad songs or music - they brought me negative thoughts. Go out early morning if you can and try to enjoy the freshness of nature - I cannot even today but then I found a way - I would open up the windows and let the sunshine come in, I would get myself at the window and look out at the nature(we have a small plantation thing outside maintained by our landlord) Try to make friends - online or offline whatever goes, I have many now here at MyLot and some in the real world. Today, I dont feel as depressed as I was and I am thinking good and Positive... Hope that helps Cheers, theSids.

I agreed loneliness is the biggest factor. All day I am with my mum. She is the greatest supporter I ever had. So thoughts of depressions finally get off me for a while. I am trying to make friends outside like the neighbourhood, am going to build up a network of friends in the office soon. However I am scared of the failure. Happy Mylotting

Great! For failures - Dont be scared coz if you are, you would never win and succeed. They are a part of life and there are times you cannot win... The cheat code is - If you see a failure happening, let the failure feel happy that it wins... move out and get prepared to return... take your time.... Failure would be having a treat and when you return, give a fightback and you would win....

The road to recovery is rather long and slow. It does, however, happen. Along with a strong spiritual life, medication and therapy you will see improvements gradually over 6 months. By six months, if your medication is correct, you will feel a hundred percent. Obviously therapy is very important to help the healing process but medication helps to balance you. I was totally against taking medication of any sort, but once I found that I could no longer function, it became a necessity rather than a luxury. Vitamin B injections also help with stress and depression, as well as omega oils. Each month will get better, and you will find that your mood will lift and stabilise.

I have the Bipolor Disorder and I have Bipolor Depression and I have felt depressed many times in my life. I have also gotten stable several times to the extent that I have felt calm, relaxed, and happy. I think your mind and heart will feel a calming affect.

Yes I have been checked by local government hospital doctors and they seem to be not so cooperative in giving me a right answer. Till now, I haven't know my actual depression type. So I am gonna search in the net to what is bipolor disorder. Thanks for replying my discussion. Happy mylotting!

Ifeel that you need to get your medication sorted out and that will help quite a lot. What I found useful was that when I was admitted to a private hospital, the doctor saw me every day and was able to adjust my medication accordingly. Just hang in there and know that you are not the only one. Something else I learnt

My doctor put me on a new medication that helps with OCD and the stress which the Bipolar Disorder brings. It is really helping! Thank you both for responding. And elimuss thanks for emailing me. I will check out the link you sent me. Dave

I actually don't think that it is possible to completely recover from depression. I've never been diagnosed as being clinically depressed in my life, but I have suffered from depression since I was a teenager. These days I would say that I have far more good days than I have bad days, but I do know that there are going to be bad days. Additionally, there are some times that I don't even know the reason that I have bad days.

Some type of depression will just hit one without one knowing it. I don't know how about you with depression, but I will pray that you and other will get better. I hope our depression will get off someday and be bless with good days ever since.

keep in mind that one cannot recover from depression one can only recover from the symptoms and those symptoms could return at anytime. However, having said that, since 2007 I have been nearly free of all symptoms associated with depression thanks to the medication I'm on. Years of therapy did play a big part in that too as well as support from my wife and daughter. It feels pretty darn good to experience sadness without being depressed and it also feels good to be able to make rational decisions for myself that was virtually impossible during my worst bouts with this disorder and to just enjoy life in general.

Yes it is pretty good to feel sad without being depressed. I am seeing a low cost government doctors so maybe that's why I am not getting fully recovery as the meds they using were different from the private clinic. I have tried private clinic meds before and found that the meds is really good in my body for a while but then I lost my job and I am seeing a cheaper consultation from government now. Hopefully the government can intake some good meds for the local people also.
