Under normal circumstances, one can be a fun and joyful person. But are there certain instances when you feel that you are robbed of your joy and gets you down. For example stress at work, disasters happening to the world, pollution, gossip, lousy neighbours and colleagues etc. Perhaps one will just say "that's life" and move on with it. How does one get around such problems? Personally, I feel that I need to channel the negative energy to doing something more positive. To remembering and helping the less fortunate to doing physical exercises. What about you? Do share your thoughts on this.

I started a new me with 2011. See I am my worst enemy. I am very lenient with good judgment for others but when it comes to me I seem to be way overboard with negativity. So this brand new year I decided NO MORE! That I have to look at the facts that although issues are tough there is always tomorrow. So the fact that I am blessed with waking up daily and allowed yet another opportunity to try again, then I am going to look forward to that. Sure like is not perfect by no means, but I certainly to not need to contribute towards so much havoc, so if I fail okay at least I know I tried, and have yet another opportunity to try again. I have always been very positive towards others and do contribute a great deal of my time to helping others so this part of me will now begin to do so with more enthusiasm.

Hey owner of wendy, do not be hard on yourself. I see you as the most helpful and positive Lotter in here. 2011 is a good start and you are reaching 10K postings. May I congratulate you in advance. Be positive, and if there is any reason for you not be positive, talk to me. I will tell you all your good points. I won't flatter you, but as a friend, I will lend you my shoulder, so to speak. You have help so many Lotters, I am sure they appreciate, as I do.

hi hwg, thanks for your sharing. One of the important things is not to lose hope or zest for life. Down, yes but not out. Cheers.

I agree with you on that point,e channeling the negative energies to the positive. This life of ours is full of negativities which come in all forms,as you have mentioned in your discussion. These negativities prey on the mind and make us to do suct actions which plunge us further into the quagmire of sorrow. to counter all this we have to put our mind on the positive track by doing such acts like helping the needy, the old and infirm etc.All these actions if done with a selfless attitude will bring jooy into our lives. For eg, on a bitterly cold evening if we give a woollen blanket to a poor man shivering on the roadside or if we give food to a poor hungry person then the look of gratitude on his face will give us that joy which is priceless.Acts of kindness give more joy than running after and acquiring vast amount of wealth.

Indeed veejay, instead of self-pity and being so awfully inward looking sometimes, i think to drag one out of the cesspit will be to help another whom we feel needs more help or appreciates our help. It works for me and I hope it will help those who are wallowing in self-pity.

I think i am a person easily to be affected by external things. As you said, stress at work, friend's cheating, above all, family members' health conditions. I have found it is very hard to keep happy and positive when your family member is suffering from disease. So i hope everything is fine with my beloved ones.

Life can be stressful, but i will find a way to relax when i feel depressed.Life is beautiful and short, and stress could come from many aspects. But we need to be positive about life and everything.Just like what you said, taking some exercises is always a good way to relax and to be happy. Thus, happy life is definitely not far from us.

yup jricky1, we must live our lives to the best of our abilities and count our blessings no matter how few or little they are. One must try not to be self-destructive and skewed in one's thinking I guess.
