I was playing with one of my friends guitar the other day and it was quite fun. I wasn't too bad but I wondered, what if I new how to play guitar? So now that I'm thinking about buying a guitar, I want to know which one to buy or how to choose one. I have never been into guitar so I don't know anything about them. How much do they cost? So thanks for any help you can provide

There are really only a few things you need to remember when buying your first guitar. 1) Don't spend much money. You don't know if this is just a passing interest, or something that will be a part of your life, for life. I don't know what currency you use in Bermuda, but make it less than $100 (USD).. preferably less than $50. It will probably fall apart in your hands in a year or two, but that's ok, it wasn't meant to last you're lifetime. 2) Be patient. If you have more than one guitar store in your area, go to them all. Play as many guitars as you can before deciding on one. As someone already said, play it all the way up the fretboard and back. Since you are new at playing, you won't necessarily get a good clear tone each time. That's ok, what you are looking for is the guitar that feels best for you. If you are getting good clear tones, that's a bonus. Then you can pick one based on sound quality. 3) Have fun! If choosing a guitar is stressful for you... you're taking it far too seriously. It's your first guitar, it isn't supposed to be the perfect guitar. It's actually harder to pick your second guitar... because you have more idea about what you want, you're probably going to spend more money on it, and you'll probably own it a lot longer (because it shouldn't fall apart on you in a year or two). ;~D Note: If you can afford it, get a guitar teacher. Yes, many great guitarists (including myself) are self taught, but very few of us progressed as well as we would have with a teacher. A teacher also introduces you to styles and genres you may not think about playing yourself. A good teacher always pulls more out of you than you thought was there. Good Luck! and let us know when you get it, so you can tell us about your find.

A guitar costs approximately $40.00 here in the Philippines. You can already get a pretty nice guitar with it. My suggestion when you're buying is strum it all the way down to check the overall sound: the bass and the treble. Although I'm very particular with the bass.

I was told I can buy one for $70 dollars in Bermuda. I have to go to some stores to check some out. I would probably get one that feels comfortable and cheap. Thank you very much

If you are really interested in being a serious guitar player or even just a social player it's all about how the guitar feels and how it appeals to you. You could spend thousands of dollars on a guitar and it not feel the way you think it should. It's simply trial and error, make sure to play a lot of different brands and as long as it feels right then that's what you should go with.
