Hi. nangisha. I would think that you could grow a watermelon in a container or a pot. I think that as long as it is wide and spacious, you should be able to plant seeds into the pot or container.

Yeah I think you totally right I must used big container but recently I got big tomato who can reach three lbs each so I plant to use my bigger container for it. Its something I never seen before not like water melon who can buy every where with cheap price. Its quite hot here right now and its a right time to plant something need full sun like watermelon but they beaten by tomato. Are you doing gardening too?.

Hi Bunnybon7!. Thats what I hear too they grew so big and had very deep root system. I have try pumpkin in pot but not the large one. Its the one used for my tomato but its not grow so well until my dad pull it from the pot. He said its won't work. I am not sure to used a bigger pot I afraid the roof the not hold it. I am doing my gardening in roof and its not design for gardening. I will consider it again because the watermelon did taste really sweet and worth to grow. Thanks for your response.

So its possible to grow in pot. I am just wonder how big is your flower pot because I reads its had very deep root system and I conclude its had big root. We consume many black baby watermelon last month and seem the seed survive from composting process and i see many of the seed grow in my tomato pot and they seem very healthy. I don't wanna to pull it because this week I will remove my tomato into bigger pot and at the same time can remove the watermelon but I am not sure how big the pot will needed. I am just curious do you see the fruit from that watermelon, its big or small. I had one of my friend grew melon in pot and she got melon as size of tennis ball with should as big as our heads .
