Why be so skeptical?

Since I recently found mylot, I've become quickly addicted to it. I've been letting all of my friends and family, that I think would be interested in it, know about this awesome site. Unfortunately, none of those people have even given a second thought about joining, but some day, I'm sure they'll realize that mylot is super and will regret not joining earlier. Why are people so skeptical all of the time about sites like mylot and PTC sites? How, or what, is the best way to recommend people to join as a referral?

It took a while for me before I finally had the courage to join mylot. There are all sorts of mylotters here and the discussions and responses you see could really be intimidating. Makes one insecure...like it did me. But I took the first leap and the second, and found out that most mylotters are truly supportive, respectful and generous with responses. Am now sort of a regular mylotter now. Quite slow though because of my work that takes most of my time. But I hope to have more time with mylot.
Have a nice day pennies...

I guess that's where I'm lucky...I work on a computer most of the day, so I can usually respond when I see I have been commented on. Not always, but I try to get back to each response ASAP.

Okay, silly question for you, Pennies, but how can I tell when I've been commented on without having to go to each page I've posted on? I just joined yesterday and am still trying to figure out what I'm doing here. I like to go back and look at discussions I've already participated in, just to see where they've gone from there, but it's tough to remember where all I posted, and I get too distracted by other topics when I go browsing for them. So, any way to go directly to a given thread I've posted in would be a help.

Well take it from someone who has been a member of myLot now for close to 4 1/2 yrs. Many people are skeptical of this site thinking this might just be another SCAM or just do not want to take the time to do what it takes to make $$ here. I have like 35 or so referrals and most of these are not active. Some have never been active. And even when it comes to family and friends no one thinks this site would really be worth their time.

I think the reason people are so skeptical is because there are so many scams out there, that they just don't trust it. I have tried getting my family to join too, but they don't think it is worth it because of the low pay here, and usually people need more than just a few cents here and there. I know I am glad that I joined mylot, as I have learned so much, and that is what mylot is a ll about. I find that if I take breaks from here periodically, then I don't get burned out as much, as it has happened. I just leave and do other things like surfing and my other sites, and then come back in later. Good luck to you and happy myloting.

I do the same...I'll have mylot and a bunch of other things, including my email, open so that when I see a new message, I can try to respond ASAP.
