According to the scientists,we are about to suffer the coldest winter this year due to the worst La Nina cycles in recent history. It bings harsh winters with drought and abnormally low temperatures. I'm worrying it so much, anyway,it will cause disaster to our globe. What i can feel obviously in my place(in north china) is the heavy dry,we haven't seen raining for about three months. but the winter is not as cold as it said. I also knew from the internet that lots of countries and places are suffering very heavy flooding... What about your place my friends? are you also getting the influence from La Nina this year? How do you feel the winter like?

Hello, Here in Massachusetts it seems like it has been an average winter. Some very cold, below 0 nights, but some 40 degree days, too. We did just get hit by a big storm and have a foot on snow on the ground, but I've lived here a long time and I've seen even more snow. I hope where you live you get the rains soon. Three months without rain must be so hard on the people, animals, and plants. Good luck this winter. JM

Not really. We had the coldest November and December in more than 200 years, but I prefer that to what we have now. +3 degrees and rain, because that equals ice everywhere. Snow everywhere is so much better than ice everywhere. We don't get the same problems with ice and snow here in Norway that they have in the rest of Norway. That is, we get the ice and the snow but we're used to it so we're coping slightly better. No closed schools, no closed airports etc. I'm hoping it'll get colder again, maybe the weather forecast is )wrong. It often is ;-

Thanks for sharing,Torunn. I like snow in winter also,i hope we would have some snow before Spring Festival. As the colder the weather is during Spring Festival, the better the next year will be. thanks again.

hi from southern California yes we had some weird torrential rains with cloud bursts and mudslides and one whole city was a disaster area., Most all the businesses downtown had flood water and mudslides in their stores and a lot of damaged expensive art work,.Laguna Beach is an artists colony really. Millions of dollars of damage were done and the governor asked for federal funds to help the victims. Now we had a week or ten days of 80 degree temps from 50 degree, so back to more normal temps but we are due some colder weather again.

Here in Minnesota we haven't seen too much of a difference in temperature differences from years past but, we have seen so much snow we've broken all time records in the month of December. Both the coasts have seen extreme weather changes. My uncle took pictures of his yard back in 1969 of the one an only snow fall they got in Portland Oregon that could actually be seen on the ground afterward. This year they are dealing with 3 inches at a time. They don't know how to deal with it.

yes, there have been so many snows all around, even in South China, they have had snowpull and abnormal cold weather these couples of years, but we here in North China ,rarely have the snows, and the temperature is also nice . so it is really curious!

Hi xins, We have no winter here, only summer and rains. The weather is getting colder as it always does this time of year. It is the cold air from the northern places that makes it so. In our place, the weather is going haywire. Heavy rains and floods on cities just 25 kilometers away while we experience only moderate rainshowers all day. I think our place is not quite prone to excessive rains unless there's a storm coming our way. The floods are happening everywhere and its not even a low pressure area yet. We are expecting heavy rains though. Right now, across the street, the backhoe is busy digging the street drainage canal deeper for this eventuality. I hope it may not come to that. I have marked the highest floodwater mark in my house just last November of 2009 and I think it may get worse. Personally, I like cold weather, I don't get tired easily in it. It is the floods that I have to be prepared for.
