as a matter of fact,,cricket is a religion in india.right from the earlier days of cricket there r more fans for indian team. but it rapidly increased when india won the world cup in 1983.and greateset batsmen sachin tendulkar is our greatest assert...and in the captency of dhoni we won t20 world cup.BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world. UPTO THIS EVERYTHING IS FINE but there r many comments on indian team performence the major one is "uncertainity" we cant guess when will our players will fire and when will they fail.... many of the incidents supports that consider 2003 world cup final,,upto that match india played very well but in that match all our hope were collapsed.. so what is u r comment about this??? can india overcome this in 2011 worldcup?????

Hi audocious, Nice description of Indian cricket and following. As a matter of fact I am following Indian cricket from 1964 when Bobby simson Australian team visited India. Radio and news papers were only means to follow the cricket then. Whenever team was in England or Australia I used to follow the matches through live commentary. In West Indies or in New Zealand it used to be next days paper or sports round up on B.B.C. at 11.15 p.m. such was the crase for cricket even in those days. About your comment on uncertainty of Indian team, It has always been the heart break or ardent followers of Indian team like me. 2003 world cup final however don't blame it on Indian team but credit it to invincibility of Australian team. I have got good hope of India winning the world cup this time around although nothing can be said about cricket until the last ball is balled or last run is scored. Let us wish India good luck to win the cup.

I agree with msdivkar. It is a severe heartbreak for us ardent fans. Lets hope this time around there is no heart break and India win it in our own backyard.

Well, its all about nerves. But this time under Dhoni, the team is looking very determined and playing in own backyard can only be an added advantage. India has the bast batting line up in the world. Zaheer and Harbhajan have their own class as bowlers. New youth players like Kohli, Pathan , Raina have done well and are all set to shine. Lets hope India go on to win this one which could probably be Sachin's last world cup.

History is against Men in Blue. Never in the history of world cup has a host nation won ! But then, Dhoni's men have never respected history. Their victories in SA are testimony of that. One things are hugely favours India is that the team is filled with match-winners/ stroke makers. The somewhat weaker bowling will be compensated by the par-time spinners, who will a handful in the slow & low pitches of the subcontinent. On paper - the form clearly points towards INDIA
