Creeping nasty stain - I've this creeping nasty stain that has been ruining my clothes. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

I've this creeping nasty stain that has been ruining my clothes. Every time I turn about something gets covered with this yuck. What is it? More importantly, how do I get rid of it? Any productive answers would be appreciated, and any solutions done on the cheap would be greatly appreciated.

any idea where its coming from? rust? mold? hard to tell how to fix it if you don't know what is causing it

That's kind of what it looked like to me too and mold is tough. Your best bet is to find out where you are getting it from and kill the mold - if you can bleach anything, that's probably the best bet. Make sure your clothes are dry before they are put away - but you know that...
