HURRAY! Published at last!

I'm so excited. I just found out last week that someone wants to publish one of my poems in a collection. I cannot reveal the title of the poem or the book as yet, but I will keep everyone posted.

That's great, it's nothing to do with www.poetry.com though is it, they seem to be after your money rather than paying you for your creativity. If it is them be very careful you know exaclty what you are getting for your money.

Thank you for that great comment and I was hoping someone would ask. This person is not affiliated with poetry.com. In fact, that is precisely what I asked of the person who sent me the request by letter. I wasn't interested in receiving money for my poem because my interest was in leaving something lasting after I'm gone. However, I was also not interested in paying to have it published; let the poem stand on its own merit. Since the poem was written about Americam history, he assured me that the poem would be included in a collection of poetry concerning history and that I would recieve a free copy. Maybe if I become better known I'll be able to call the shots monetarily. For right now, it's a "foot in the door." I've had dealings with poetry.com and saw through what they were all about right away.

That's great news. I so pleased for you. I didn't spot what was going on until after I'd told my family I was going to be published, but thankfully I spotted it before I paid them any money. Well done for finding a real oppertnity.

It's always so great when you get these signs of appreciation for something that is your passion and hobby. I hope that once the poetry is published you will give us a link to it!

Thanks for your response lady1993. The poem will be included in a book of poetry which is due to be published in about 2 months. Since I wasn't the compiler I don't think I am at liberty to divulge the title as yet. But I can give you the website where all of my poetry can be found.
