I walk fast, do my assignments fast too, I bathe fast- I think, but I eat so slow.. I take about 20-30 minutes eating. The longest was an hour. I think the problem is my chewing, since I chew my food well before swallowing. Is there any way to eat faster- I am being a hassle to my family and friends when we eat out...

There's nothing wrong with being so slow in eating.
At least, you really chew your food well. One thing though, is when you are at a wedding function, you could have been eating still but your friends are already with the bride and the groom posing for pictures !

Practice eating a little faster. Practice makes perfect, remember?

                    hi lady,
it is better to chew your food longer than to choke on it because it is still solid. what is wrong with eating longer than usual? in life there are things that needs to be done fast and others slower.
so, just take it easy. your in the right tract.

I had a relative who would chew 32 times before swallowing.I was told that it is good for health. So,i can't say that what you are doing is bad for health. If you could chew the same number of times as you are at present and quicken the pace of chewing it could help you in your present difficulty.

Hi sweety, I think its normal to chew our food properly. If I remember it right our teacher in my primary grade always emphasized that we benefit most if we chewed our food before swallowing. In that way nutrients are easily extracted from the food, and sometimes suffer indigestion if we don't chew our food right.Maybe you should adjust your eating habits like eating earlier or eat less but frequently.LOL

actually its good habit to eat very slow... because when we eat slow even know how much we need and is that our stomach became full but when we try to eat fast we have chance of overeating ,it exceeds what we actually needs and yout stomach starts expanding.... you want to look fit eat slowly its a good habit

I think it perfectly fine, you enjoy your food and many people forget to enjoy it, enjoy the taste and its also good as food digest fast. people who chew their food don't get fat. Tell them that "i am not slow you are fast" tell them to enjoy the food don't eat in hurry.

Sometimes I do try chewing faster but I end up biting my tongue.
