I feel disappointed at Tirumala

We had been to Tirumala hills to see the temples.I had the firm believe that I will stand in front of statue of the Lord and say my prayers, as we do in temples here. But to my disappointment, none were allowed to stand there, we were virtually driven away, i felt so sad. We walked such a long path bare foot, bought special 'darshan-tickets', what for? Hubby was so tired, he could not walk during return trip to the gate, to ride the car, i had to hold his hands. We both have burning feet problems due to diabetic,we suffered from fever due to exhaustion. They should allow at least few seconds. What is your opinion? Will you not feel disappointed and sad, under such situations? Share your opinion please. kalyani

I have never done this but I am sure I would be very disappointed to put all the effort into walking that far and then not meet my goal. That would be very disappointing I am sure. I am not familiar with this custom, but I am sorry you paid the price and then did not get to see the statue.

hello kal, good day and welcome back home. it is really kind of upsetting to be thinking that you will be able to pray at the foot of idols, but something but which you were not allowed to and to think it is what temples are for. i guess there should have been people in charge there not just guards. they maybe just watching the temples and rules are to stay several feet away but for you who had to travel so far, it is such a disappointment. i hope you have had your rest at home after such an ordeal. still i say, you are blessed having been able to see the temple's beauty and grace on the hilltop. have a very nice day. ann
