My inside cat Frodo had the worst dandruff problem suddenly a few weeks ago. I realized after awhile what was causing it.
Cats food has certain vitmains and ingredients in it that they need to keep them healthy. I had a big ham roast thing that I had gotten for free. It saved me from having to buy cat food so I was feeding it to my cats. Thats when my cats dandruff started. It was so sick she was literally covered in it. No matter how many times I brushed her she just had more.
After switching back to cat food her dandruff problem has gone away and her fur looks nice and healthy again. I wont make that mistake with her again. Obviously she wasent getting what she needed nutrient wise and it was causing danduff.

Well you saved yourself a lot of money by diagnosing your cat yourself.
I have noticed a bit of dandruff on one of my cats at one point....but I thought they all have it, like people.
In the winter time, I loose hair like crazy...I am not going bald or anything, but there is always lots of hair in my brush and on my shoulders. My hairdresser says people 'shed' just like animals do. Weird, eh?

Hmm thats interesting if we actually shed like animals do. I'm sure as a hair dresser she knew what she is talking about I've just never heard of it before. My cats never really got dandruff before so when I saw how covered she was it was obvious something was wrong. The problem went away as soon as I put her back on cat food. I dont buy expensive brands but obviously its healthier for her then just ham.

I would say that yes the foods we eat has a big impact on our health. Maybe not so much as was evident with my cat though. Maybe because cats are so much smaller its hard for their bodies to accept change like that of food not being as healthy giving them dandruff. I keep giving the cats outside the ham that I was giving my indoor cat but it doesnt seem to be bothering their coat like it did the cat that is still living inside. Or maybe I just havent paid enough attention.
