Are there any criteria / emergency to justify restrictions that haram?

In Islam clearly explained the actions and foods that are halal and haram. But because in emergency situations without sin if you did, which I know for example medicine containing alcohol, lying to save a life.
Sometimes people simply said that an emergency order to make and eat foods that are forbidden.
