The local news cast just reported a new study indicates that letting your pet sleep with you may be dangerous for your health. I have always kept my dog outside, so it does not affect me, but I know a lot of folks that treat their pets as members of the family. What do you think of this new finding?

Hi, I do not let pets sleep in our bed either but I do allow them to stay inside the house, sometimes sleep in the sofa and the chair. What does the news say about the danger? Is it because of the fur?, fleas or anything? would be better if you included the link to the news

There was no detail on the broadcast, it was one of those human interest stories that are used to finish the show.

What exactly was danger? I have 2 cats & one of them loves to sleep in our beds, whether we are in them or not. Sometimes she sleeps at our feet, but other times, she'll lay by my chest, with her head under my chin. I love it when she sleeps with me.

I have many animals in my home. I have animals that sleep with me and my kids and I will never change that. If my animals are going to give me some disease do you not think it would have already happened? I think that more and more people are being so over zealous in what they are trying to do. Besides if they are going to give you something they can at any time.

It can happen anytime, but if precautions can be taken to avoid the problem, isn't that wise?
