The Moon represents the intuition, dreams, emotional, and psychic aspects of our lives. It is the aspects of womanhood. It is the Goddess Artemis and Hecate. The Moon is also deeply connected with water and thus has the attributes also of the God Poseidon and Khepera. Think of the effects the moon has on the tides of earth and you have a good visual representation of what the Moon of the tarot has in store for the Querent. The Moon is found on the path between Netsach (Victory) and Malkuth (The Kingdom) on the Tree of Life. This placement is a lesser reflection of the moon as Yesod is the actual sphere of Luna. As we are just passing through the Moon there is a danger of being led astray by astral images and mistaking those for the real thing. When the Moon is drawn by itself or in a reading it symbolizes a great many things that all deal with the ethereal plane, or the plane at least not seen in the material world. In the positive it often symbolizes work that is done in the creative field or the field of creation. It may represent dreams, intuition, and even psychic work for the Querent. In the negative it may represent illusion or deception. It may also represent an inability in the Querent to distinguish truth from illusion, or perhaps an inability to deal well with reality. Questions: Are you able to discern illusions or do you find yourself getting lost chasing after moonbeams?

For the most part, I would say that I am the kind of person that is able to tell the difference between illusions. Therefore, I can think of a few times in my life that I have wasted time chasing after things that will never come true in my life. However, the vast majority of the time I can see when something is a con and I don't waste my time with those kinds of things in my life. I think that experiences in our lives teach us to discern these things.

Dorann- You have expressed it so well. I do agree that it takes our life experiences and from those if we so choose we can learn how to discern the two worlds. Namaste-Anora

Namaste Anora, I find myself lost chasing the moonbeams for sure. This is due to the change in my lifestyle and thinking. Earlier I was dreaming, trying to turn dreams into reality and living quite a hectic and busy life. But since 2008, I have changed my thinking, and today I am without much big dreams. I am like a kid now who finds happiness in chasing the moonbeams... oblivious of any selfishness, corrupt thoughts like hurting someone. I have dreams but they are simpler and more achievable quite easily. I want to spread smiles, happiness wherever I am and do not hesitate doing things that normally people my age dont do because they think their acts will not be called polite or social and give a wrong impression of their mental state. I dont care about this and at times live out my heart.

sids- I think when we know we that we are seeking a positive path, so to speak, that it is not quite reaching for something that does not exist. It does exist this happiness that stems from being kind to our fellow man. It does exist, this sense of peace that over comes us when we no longer worry but simply live life fully. I wish you all the best my friend. Namaste-Anora
