A Stupid Statement

There was a news here about bombing a public bus. 4 people had been killed and there were a lot of others who got injured. For Filipino myLotters, it happened around Edsa, Buendia crossing. I was hanging out earlier at a Starbucks with my girl when I overheard people talking about it. They said something like
"What the hell are they trying to accomplish? Did they want to get noticed or something? If they do, they should bomb at least 3 busses. That's not gonna do them any good. I even barely noticed the news."
His statement got me all upset. I was thinking this guy should have been there to witness all the bloodshed that happened. The tragedy can be interpreted in a lot of ways:
-Bad Karma
-Another Coup De Tat
-Public gesture of a war coming
...and upon hearing the dimwit's rumblings, I'd pretty much prefer that it would be bad karma for him. I mean, read the statement again. That's just an insensitive statement, don't you think? And even I don't think I'm that sensitive myself. I then started to realize that some people deserve to be on that bus. That's not all that he said. He went on and on until I hardly can take it anymore. I just stood up, took my coffee, and gestured my girlfriend that we're leaving.

Ah, in context that sounds really insensitive, but perhaps he didn't mean it "that way". I mean, personally, when I read what he said, I interpreted it as him just saying that, in other words, what the bombers did was pointless. Yeah, I think so too. Hurting and killing innocent people- not the type of thing I support by any stretch of the imagination __ ...But really, I agree with you in saying that the way he put it was really... eh, prone to being misconstrued. Tact is something that guy should learn. . . .
Have a nice day~

I can see his point of view too, and actually, I concur, yes, I think what he said was pretty stupid, but I was just playing devil's advocate. I mean, I agree with what you said, but I'm just toning it down a bit on that guy, I mean, I don't think his intentions were all that bad. He was being kinda stupid when he said that. I guess my point is that I would have preferred that he stated his point in a more tactful way; that's all I'm trying to say. I didn't mean to sound like I was disagreeing with you guys per se... Eh, I always get misunderstood on MyLot when I try to show a *slightly* different point of view :\ People seem to think that I'm disagreeing with what they're saying... I mean, I never even really disagree with what anyone's saying in most cases, I just hold a similar belief, but from a softer perspective. I don't mean any harm o_o

I don't know, I still think what he said was stupid and selfish. I can't seem to get a good side out of it. No matter how I look at it, it just seems so wrong.

Unfortunately there are people who do not think clearly before reacting to something. Mostly they just want to show how clever and quick wit they are but somehow show their own 'meanness' instead.
Example:
A: Any news on C?
B: Oh, she was fired from her job yesterday. I don't know why. It's so mean of her boss to do so.
A: Oh, really? How is she now? I must cheer her. (Then A was busy with her cellphone and sending a message to all her friends who know C saying: You know what? C has been fired.)

Oh, this is a different case. I've been C before and it's not greatest feeling. Some people just want to appear smart in front of everybody by making the people around him look dumb.

It's not human nature, actually. It's all about wanting to appear perfect. I know people who are just like this. They will stab you at the back anyway they can and won't even feel sorry about it.

Awww...we agree on something, Front. That was really an insensitive and stupid comment...actually from the sounds of it, it was more than just a comment. I would like to think he is in a minority with his thinking and most would realize that one of their own loved ones could have been on that bus and been grateful that they were not. At the very least, most of us I think have enough love in our hearts to understand and emphathize that there were people thata lost a son, husband, dad, daughter whatever. I would have been sickened listening to that guy and done the same...walk away from it. Karma...

Yep, better just leave this to karma. Maybe it has better things in store for him.

Hi frontvisions,
Sad that some people get pleasure in others' pains and agonies. This guy seems to be one of them for sure.
You are right, he should have been there to get the full scenario and I believe he still would have mentioned the same thing... I see him as a sick and pervert kind of a guy... not worth of being born as a human.

Maybe his coffee got into his brain.
For the love of God, no one was even laughing at his jokes.

He was trying to pass it up as a joke by laughing after every stupid rumblings he makes. Pathetic. If you ask me, he's the joke himself.

maybe you should have done it so that he will have a huge karma on itself
I mean, if i were the person, i'll just use my sim card and after reporting the incident i will just throw my sim and let the police get here to have him arrested for possible suspect

You're right.
Frontvisions on phone: I'm here to report a prospect for the bombings. Apparently, he suggested to bomb two more busses and he's laughing like a jerk about it. Bring in a strap suit just to be safe.

It just seems to me that this person needs some straightening. Or maybe he had no parents to grow up with that's why he's like that.

By God, his friends weren't even laughing at his jokes. Horrible joke if it is intended to be. That is an awful picture you painted there. Yeah, he should have thought of that picture before saying something like that.

Hello Front-Visions
,
I am just you and you're GF are fine now. well, we do live in a democratic country and we allow whiners to whine around and be insensitive. they wouldn't know how hard it is until they actually experienced it. they don't know and have no idea and probably don't care what the consequences of their talks with this issue.
I am sure he will have a bad day some day as a karma to what he said on that day

Well, as they say, Those who bark loud are often the ones that are cowards. A lot of people say a lot of stuff but when they're in that same situation, they cave in. Thanks, btw.
