I am forever getting offers from last minute bookers, by mail and electronically, for travel opportunities at big discounts. I usually trash those offers without opening them, but I wonder if they really are valid. Anyone successfully booked travel at the last minute?

The deals are real and I have known people who have used them. One couple I know takes several last minute trips. The problem is you find out about it on Monday and have to leave on a Wednesday. One problem is you may get a great deal on a flight only to find out that there are no hotels available. One friend 8told me ha got a great deal on a flight on Christmas Day but it was traveling during the middle of the day. Be careful if you take a cheep cruse as you may find your room is in a high traffic or noise area. One couple wrote in a review that they paid 1/2 price for their room only to find out that it was located under one of the party areas so they had noise until 2 or 3 in the morning.

I havenĀ“t ever booked a trip with Last Minute Bookers. One time I booked a flight through an email link months later the trip to Haliax was canceled due to the travel company going down. I got this news in an email and so booked a flight to Vancouver. Then that airline had strikes and with luck we successfully flew to amd from Canada. Another flight to be canceled was to Mexico but I went to the expensive Maldives instead.

I can never use those wonderful last minute bookers because I have to have the lodgings well in advance so they are cheaper (I exchange them as I have timeshares. So I use the cheapest normal flight but know how my lodgings are in advance. This March I could manage to get 3 travel companions for my 4 people aparthotel. That means a lot of savings.

I haven't received any offers like that though... How do you receive those, are you subscribed to them or something? I don't really like last minute bookings since they cost much- but I have done that before.

no, I am not subscribed, but I think that my name must be on lists from the cruise lines, as I have been on a few cruises in the past.

With the current situation in Europe, I think last minute booking is the only way to travel. With frequent strikes in Greece and France, and probably more to come in other countries, how anyone can plan a trip is beyond my comprehension. If you must travel, then be sure to pack your hiking boots! Not many people will be having European holidays this year. Big discounts are normally worthwhile but what happens if you are forced to stay longer than expected? We have already seen tourists stranded in Greece last year. This year will be even worse.

Actually when I travel, I usually buy my tickets and book my hotels way way in advance. That also gives me big big discounts for my trip. But for some of my clients, I usually check those last minute offers. Some of them are legit. It brings big smiles to my clients.

Yeah i'm asking the same question. I planning to travel by a last minute offer because the big discount is attractive but i'm not sure of it.Are they a real deal? Are there any disadvantages?
