I live in Hamilton, Ontario. We like to call ourselves the City of Waterfalls because we have 120 of 'em... The Hamilton Spectator newspaper offers this slideshow on their website of what some of them look like in winter: http://www.thespec.com/photozone/477885--our-frozen-falls Enjoy!

Those are some awesome pics!!! Makes me feel really silly whining about 2 inches of ice & 8 inches of snow a few weeks ago!!! Weather like that makes me realize why I LOVE living in the South!!!!

I live in the south, too... southern Ontario, that is. We're getting some snow right now. The flakes are so fluffy it looks unreal, like the storied angels' pillow fight...

Hamilton's latitude is 43'15N, almost the same as Marseille, in the south of France (43'18N).

From where I sit, southern Ontario is still NORTH!!! It's been in the upper 50s to mid 60s for the last several days. They are saying we might see a dusting by Friday. Even if it snows, the ground should be warm enough to melt it on contact!!!

Hahahaha! Awesome pics. Over here they're going on about snow but said it won't settle. So why go on about it then? I reckon we should ship the media out to Canada, see how long they last!

The falls are fascinating. Kind of suspended animation. I guess that water is moving under that lot or there's going to be a massive flood somewhere! I'm glad they are in Canada and not here though. I am fed up with this winter already. Roll on Spring.

I've had enough winter already, too, but I have to admit, seeing those frozen waterfalls does remind me that there are some nice things about winter, too.

Beautiful. I live in Canada as well and we have been having the weirdest weather this winter. Keep warm in Ontario.

That's awesome! I actually live in a place known for its waterfalls too. I'm in Ithaca, New York. Tons of beautiful waterfalls in this neck of the woods. Winter is my favorite time of year to go see them and take pictures. It's just breathtaking with how the ice forms and the snow lays. Nature sure is beautiful!
