Must be permitted to build in the city

In this city, we must be permitted to build houses or apartments. But we don't need to permit in countryside. Is it the same in your country?

Wow! That good you are allow to build a house for free. Here in our country we don't allow to build even a small house. If you build a small house they called you squater

The regulation here before you build a house in a vacant lot you need to buy any parcel of land. You cannot just build without buying the land where you want to build a house, friend...have a great day!

I believe in the US we need a permit to build anywhere. At east that is how it is around here. You even need a permit to make any outside improvements or to build a shed or any other outside buildings. The reason for the permit is usually so they can raise the real estate taxes accordingly. Does your country have real estate taxes?

No, we don't. I think that asking permission to build is logic and good. However, it take much time and there are many negatives behind this, so we feel very tired if we must do it.
