Hi Friends, A shocking news from the Indian cricket board. After Common Wealth Games corruption once again there is another trouble in India. The cricket grounds are not ready for hosting the World Cup 2011.The INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL had given 31st January as the deadline for the preparation of cricket grounds. But the CAB(Cricket Association of Bengal) have asked deadline till February 5.I am talking about EDEN GARDENS stadium which will host four games of the WORLD CUP.India will be playing England on 27th of February. So Indian grounds are in doubt for hosting the World Cup. So guys what do you think about this?

As usual no clarification from BCCI. Still no news about about remaining 3 matches on the Venue & Refund to spectators. These are times one really feels ashamed of being an Indian. How come there is no accountability from people who hold such high positions on the cricket board ???

Hi Marine, I am very sorry for the bad news.Because you are from West Bengal.Eden Gardens of Kolkata has been one of the biggest grounds of India.I have not heard the news about the shifting of venue. If it is true then it is very bad for the Kolkata cricket fans. Thanks for your comment.Have a nice day.

Hi sami, Corruption is not a new word for Indians. Now the situation is just like, without corruption nothing is possible in India. I think there is nothing to worry about the preparations. Delhi can do wonders sometimes. They will prepare it within ‘no time’. I surprised to saw the new roads within one day at the time of Common Wealth so I have hope for the best this time. Let us wait and watch.

Hi Kala, yeah, friend you are right. The word "corruption" has been very familiar for the Indian government and other high officials of the rich persons.I hope you would have heard of Raja who has involved in 3G spectrum corruption.Kalmadi involved in Common Wealth Games corruption. Now it's the turn of the Cricket officials. The Ground at Kolkata has been not ready. They are demanding for another extension. But all other grounds are ready to host the World Cup.I don't know why the Officials are spoiling our country's name among the countries.Hope the World cup would be hosted in India without any troubles. Thanks for your comment.Have a nice day.

Hi Jara, No way for that. All the Indian cricketers are just playing for money. They won't boycott like other cricketers. They need a luxurious life in which money is very essential. We should just blame the India cricket board for this reason .Hope the matches would not be taken away from India. Thanks for your comment.Have a happy day.

It is shame that in India every event is landing in controversies. First with Hockey World Cup then Common Wealth Games and now Cricket World Cup. Why everywhere laziness and corruption lies in a administrator in India. Lot of time was given to construct the stadiums and arrange facilities. Where ever government hand is there in organizing committee then obviously corruption and slowness comes. These rats know only how to eat the public funds which are for development of stadiums. If ICC has guts to cancel the venue for world cup matches then they should do it if they do not make it by 31st jan. There are lot of venues in India where matches can be conducted, why the privileges are given only to metros like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore. I am sure that smaller venues will organize the matches of World Cup better than these big venues. It is surprising that now Nagapur is hosting World Cup matches and feeling sad that superb venue in Vizag where all the facilities are available is ignored, here all the international standards are maintained. ICC has to act fast before it becomes a shameful world cup

Pretty Shameful ! Just two days after Mr.Shetty, the tournament director accused the media of creating a hype & assuring that all venues will be ready on time, comes this shocking news that The first match has been relocated. Wankede Stadium is another one behind schedule ! I feel so sorry for the people who have lost money in air ticket booking & hotel booking. Most airlines charge hefty sums for rescheduling flights & Hotels charge anywhere between 10-15% for cancellation on confirmed bookings. Paying cricket fans deserve better treatment. Still no Apology or clarification from BCCI who are still busy hunting Modi. At least that man was an able organizer!

Hi Srjshm, A great disappointment for the cricket fans.Kolkata fans had missed their chances of seeing their favorite players playing on the ground.Even some of them booked hotels and airline tickets for seeing the match. Now they need to change their trip to Chennai and Bangalore for seeing the Indians playing on the tournament.Poor handling of BCCI about this problem.BCCI is good for criticizing the media but they are corrupted officials. Thanks for your comment.Have a nice day.

As usual we are late here as well. Nothing to worry they will finish this on time, if not they will make sure to name some official whom they can blame for that. May be they will blame BCCI, Govt of Delhi or if they do not find anyone will blame you and me for any reason. At last they will ask Indian army to come and help them to do some painting work for BCCI and Indian Cricket. Army is doing all this stupid work because of all these corrupt officials and politicians. They have habit of doign everything at the last minutes. I do not know how they live their life . Thank You for sharing.

Hi Jara, What to do with our country's corrupted officials. There is also a lack in the management of the ground.ICC should take necessary steps to prevent the Indian cricket board from doing more corruptions.Yeah,in India there are no hi-facility grounds like others in many countries.India can only improve their situation if the corrupted officials are sacked. Thanks for our comment.Have a great day.

It is indeed sad if the reports to be believed and Eden garden, the showpiece of Indian cricket, is not fit to host world cup matches then it will be a great shame for Indian cricket and insult to cricket loving fans of India. Despite being the richest and most powerful sports organisation in the world, B.C.C.I. could not meet the deadline. It is unbelievable. It is not lack of expertise, talent or commitment, It is all personal greed that hampers all sports activities in the country. All these corrupt elements ought to be stripped out of all sports in the country. Government and people at large should take the responsibility to ensure that.

I don't know why everyone is talking about corruption. Corruption is when there is some money scam. In this case, the developers have been behind schedule and this is due to improper management. No additional funds are given to complete on time. It is only the Eden Gardens that is behind schedule. Wankhede stadium is complete. I am from Mumbai and I have seen the work. Its done. Dalmiya has assured to complete the work by Feb 5. However, the first ODI has been shifted to Bengaluru. The Government is not involved in this as it was in Commonwealth games. There is no corruption. BCCI takes full control of all the management. The World Cup will be a successful and spectacular event.

Dear Sami00 it is a real pity that these kind of things keep happening in India. What happened during the Common Wealth Games is a big example of the corruption that has become India's Cancer. I know that every country faces corruption problems. But here corruption faces no limits; from the top to the bottom. But the past says that we do some how finish our jobs in time (by some sort of fire fighting). I am not saying that it is the best way. But I still think that this is what is going to happen again this time. We will be ready, but at the last moment. It is getting to be really embarrassing... :P Jaago India Jaago...!!!! Balu
