I experienced before how my superior conducted a Performance Evaluation with us as employees. Since our performance rating based on our job output, we usually under this system of evaluation, which some of my co-workers didn't like it because it trigged dissatisfaction on their part. Is it really good for the employees to be evaluated like this P.E.?

I believe that PE is a valuable tool for measuring performance and getting together with your employee to discuss job related information. Sometimes the manager is removed from the day to day and doesn't understand why employees are performing under par. The PE gives them the opportunity to discuss any obstacles together. I believe it works if both involved take the time to prepare and discuss. You get what you give. Take the time and do it right.

We too have our performance evaluation. I like it. That way, you get to see how your supervisor sees you as a worker. But it has to be that the evaluation should be discussed between the two of you. There maybe some personal grudges that affects his grade with you, so it should be brought and threshed out. Both of you should compromise on what should be the true rating. That way, the employee is motivated to make good on his job at all times. And so with the supervisor who should be a good supervisor to his staffers.

Got your points Simplyd. The drudges must be settled down, if there is, together with the appraiser.

Yes, every employer evaluates their workers in order for them to do their job well. I believe in evaluation Performance cause this will separate the best and this is used for basis of promotions. We sometimes do not agree on how superior rates us but we can always make appeals if ever there will be discrepancy in how we are evaluated!

That's the purpose of PE and for discrepancy, I think it can be solved by you and the appraiser. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there! I believe PE is very much essential on the part of the employees and the employers as well. Here, the employer would be able to know the performance of each employee if he/she performs his/her job well and so that the employer would know whose employee he would retain in his company. This is also an advantage on the employee 'casue PE may serve as a challenge and an inspiration for them to work well. The employees will then strive more to their best on their performances. Happy mylotting!

True purpose of the PE must be clearly understood by all employees. Serve as a challenge and strive more...that's pretty good to hear mtr. You've got it right my friend.

the performance evaluation is an important part of the employer/employee relationship. it should clearly point out both good performance and areas which need improvement, as well as suggestions for how the performance can be improved.

Performance evaluation is just one of the tools utilized by a company in relation to the quality and quantity performance possessed and shown by the employee. Though it is effective and helps you improve on your lapses it is somehow biased due to subjective reasons upon doing the evaluation.

Biased PE results to dissatisfaction of employees, if it's not applied fairly. But, it's effective way of knowing the true performance of every staff. Nice share.

Hi. In essence, performance evaluations are not only good but they are also beneficial for the employees. The problem however lies on the objectivity of the person giving the evaluation. I know that these evaluations have flaws, but not conducting it deprives the employee of knowing his weak points and/or areas where he can improve on.

You are correct and I'm sure your opinion got to be practiced by employers as such.

It is very important to do this performance evaluation in order to know which of the employees doesn't have the capability to work in the company. Some of the employees doesn't really do their jobs after they are hired. For me it is for the benefit of everyone, for the boss and the employees.
