I and my boyfriend will get married on this June. So, I want to buy a gift for his parents, special his mother. I'm not good in this field. I don't know what I can buy. I'm going to buy a new coat for her. But my boyfriend say that I shouldn't buy clothes for her. She's quite hard wearing clothes. Do you have any advices for me? Which gift should I buy?

i guess this is really the hardest part, giving a gift to a future mother in law. my wife made throw pillows for my mother`s sala set and i bought some non stick pan set for her mother. my mother`s sala set has no pillows and lucky my wife knows how to sew. i just listen to my wife and my mother in law when they are talking and most of the topics are about cooking so that was what came into my mind. you have to be observant. goodluck.

it was not easy for us too back then for it is always hard to give gifts on future in laws, you just need to follow your instinct. the photo is a good idea, but i hope you can come up with something more. go around the mall and walk around you might spot something that you think she will love. goodluck again.

It will be more easier for me if I'm her daughter-in-law. But I'm only girlfriend of her son. So, It's difficult for me. How do you think if I present her a large photo of my boyfriend in his graduated celebration?

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I hope you have a wonderful marriage. In regards to a gift for your future mother-in-law, here are a few suggestions: a necklace (maybe pearls), a picture frame with a picture of her and your fiancee in it, a watch, a camera, a vase, a gift certificate to a spa or beauty salon. I hope you find at least one of these helpful. Good luck!

Hi chitchat, thank you for your suggestions. But you know: A necklace, a watch, a camera: quite expensive for me (I can't buy a cheap ones for her). A picture frame: how can I have the photos of her and finance'? a vase: It's maybe good! a gift certificate to a spa or beauty salon: She never go to there. I'll think about your ideas carefully before I choose.

hi tkonlinevn, Mother in law and Daughter in law relationships are special ones in every culture and country. It is always good to make your motherin law wanted . I think the biggest weakness of a woman is jewellery if you can afford it. So why not buy her a nice necklace or something like that , it should make her very happy

I think you should ask your boyfriend that what his mother like most. Then you can be quite sure that his mother will like your gift. And in my opinion if his mother like to cook then can give some cooking product if like to watch movie then some very good movie CD.

I'll do that. I hope I'll find a suitable gift before I'll go home to welcome traditional holiday.

Try to ask your boyfriend her interest, likes and hobbies. From this you can get some gift ideas. Some personal gift, your own made gift can always touch receiver's heart!

Congratulations on your wedding! Your boyfriend could probably help you pick a gift for his mother. I would go with jewlery if she wears it. If not maybe a picture frame with a picture of you and her son, or if you can't get one, of her son.

Hi Tkonlinevn, I would try to see what she likes. Ask your boyfriend. That is the hardest gift to buy. I had to do it 16 years ago. I ask people that knew her. Plus I was there all the time because she made my dress for me. I hoped I helped out.
