How do you convert a slide show or power point into Video format?

Actually, my question is, is there any software out there, which can help you convert a slide show or a power point into video format such as AVI, or MPG? I just want to do some advertising on youtube. I saw some people can upload a video that is totally slide show of pictures. So, I just think that if I can make a power point presentation and convert it to video format, I can do some advertising on youtube too. So, is there any software that would do this job for me?

There are literally hundreds. I can't personally recommend any but if you search for 'ppt to avi converter' (adding the word 'free', perhaps) you will find plenty.

You will need to try them to decide which does the job best for you. Some will not reproduce the special effects and some may have a less than intuitive interface. Some will give you a poor quality video and some may not handle sound well.
As a rule of thumb, always make your presentation as a web presentation (rather than for a particular paper size) and keep effects (fading, sliding text in and so on) to a minimum.

there are some programs and application that can convert your power point presentation to video format. and you can also create a video which really like to power point like video maker.you can also apply some backgrounds and movements and motions too.

To make it simple and don't need to search or use softwares to convert your Powerpoint Presentation, just look for video software that can insert photos or images and to make as a slides video presentations. Video softwares that are built for photo slides has transitions, special effects, edit texts, and it is much better than doing on Powerpoint presentation. Beside, you have said you are going to upload your work on Youtube.com. Mostly you seen on Youtube.com for photos slides plus music or audio are made on a Video Editing Softwares or Photo to Video Softwares.
If you going to ask me what video softwares, well sorry I don't know on MS Windows, I know on Mac OS only. Like "Photo to Movie", iMovie, PulpMotion and so more.
