It is amazing how great chocolate can be, when calming your nerves. I always have a couple of pieces that I eat when I have to make a presentation of some sort. That way it helps me relax and allows me to get on with my life, allowing me to be more at ease and ready to go. Have you found chocolate relieves your stress?

I agree fully with you. Chocolate is great for the nerves. It is also great comfort food, well aslong as we don't eat way too much, but it certainly does taste great. I guess sometimes when i am feeling stressful i do often turn to chocolate and have a few. It seems to do the trick as i do start to feel a lot better and a hell of a lot more relaxed. I am glad that i still have quite a lot of chocolate in which i both bought and was also given to me at christmas. So i will not run out for quite a while.

Always have chocolate on hand. If I don't have chocolate in the house, it is one of those things that I can justify going out and getting that is somewhat of a luxury. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I guess you could justify going out to buy some. It is so very very tasty, i try not to let myself run out, that way if i want some when it is late i won't be cranky as id have it in, yet if i didn't have it in and the shops were hut then i would be a little bit cranky, and id learn to always make sure i have chocolate on hand. Hope you have a great weekend. Take care.

ever month I have a huge bag of m&m's in my freezer for my stressful days 1 handfull makes me feel good. I hid them in the freezer so my son don't eat them. I have other snacks for him. I also eat some when getting cramps. They sure help me to feel calmer. Its true Chocolate melts away stress. They say its better to eat dark chocolate but I rarely buy that kind of chocolate.

yes i do. i love chocolates. and eating chocolates, especially when i feel gloomy, makes me feel happy again. i think it's because of the endorphins, more endorphins in your body make you happy.

I do agree with you. It is mostly because of the endorphins. They elevate everything and bring stress down to a much more manageable level. So it is good times when chocolates are eaten. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

i so love eating chocolates, i'm probably a chocoholic. same as you, chocolates are my comfort food. i don't pass a day without them. eating chocolates is like having a slice of heaven. it is a fact that the endorphins in chocolates is a chemical that controls our mood and makes us happy. when i'm beat from work, i usually treat my self with a heavy load of chocolate. it makes me more calm and relaxed every time i take a bite of it. :-)

Hi, megamatt! I haven't found it has the function of relieving stress. I don't eat chocolate much because it may cause me cough. Maybe I would have had one piece before my oral English test. I did really bad that day, fortunately I passed it finally.

Yeah it is helpful if you can eat it. I would not recommend eating chocolate if it does cause adverse effects. Those effects could lead to stress of a different kind. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Chocolate is always what i need to chase my stress away. The more chocolate i eat, the less tension I begin to feel. I may pay for it later on the scale, but it works for the moment.

Chocolate is definitely a stress reliever. It has a calming effect yet sometimes it can have hyperactivity effect on human depending on each person's mood. It has cafeine that contributes to the hyperactivity and at the same time also the same chemical that has the calming effect.

The key is to take just enough where it helps calm your nerves. However do not take too much where it does the exact opposite and causes you to be a bit too alert and thus out of focus. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes it is a great thing to calm those nerves. They can get rather frazzled. Plus it tends to give us a boost. Something that is also important going back to my initial example when giving an important presentation. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

that's really true. Something to remember when selecting chocolate is that the darker it is, the less sugar it contains and the better it is for you.We are all aware of the emotional benefits of chocolate. By liberating endorphins in the body, chocolate provides us with feelings of comfort and wellbeing, energy and pleasure.it did for me too. there’s something more to your chocolate cravings than just enjoying your favorite food. Chocolate changes how we feel. It makes us happy, alert, and less aware of things that cause us pain. it's Like an anti-depressant for me.
