For those who travels a lot, have you tried any local mode of transport that is unique to that country? For example in our country, we have the famous jeepney, kalesa and the tricycle. A jeepney is like the jeep of the Americans but made longer and is decorated with different color paintings to look more attractive. A kalesa is like a horse carriage but also adorned with different things in different colors. A Tricycle is like a motorcycle with a side car but ours can accommodate 7 persons. I have experienced the double decker bus of Hongkong which I think originated from the west. The tuktuk of Thailand which is similar to our tricycle.

We use public transport like bus for our day to day commuting. Most of them drive their own vehicles which leads to lot of traffic jam in the area. Buses would not make much difference and it will ease the traffic.

I can imagine... With your population and the number of vehicles, I guess it is stressful just to go to work...

In Indonesia we have bajaj which is originated from India, it is actually a three wheel vehicle that can load two until three passengers but very very noisy. We also have bemo that can load 6-10 passengers inside.
