To all Non-Filipinos: Do you consider living in the Philippines?

I mean, are you satisfied in your own country? Do you want to go elsewhere and explore other countries, in this case the Philippines? I love my country. I love its being a third world country and all but I also love the way this small nation want to go up in being a world-class nation. Sure it is not that developed like its neighboring country like Singapore or Japan, or even China, but there's this homely feeling here. The people are not that really bad. We don't discriminate foreign people here but we discriminate our own people instead, that's not really a good thing to say with my "kababayan" (countrymen) but that's reality. In the 70's or 80's, we brought home the distinguishable title of one of the most "happy" people in the world. Well I just heard news of that effect when I was young and it made a mark in my head. We are a nation of striving people. When all else are down when the economic meltdown occurred some years ago, we are just simply sitting on that scenario. We are not a rich country that's why we don't really felt the effect of that. We are a nation of loving people. We love our families, firstly, the most. We love our identities as Filipinos. We love our culture, our tourist attractions, our sports, our way of living in general. I ask once again to our fellow humankind all over the world, will you consider living here in the Philippines?

Well I'm Peruvian and my family left Peru and lives in the Philippines instead, oh I forgot I was half Filipino. i was never considered as a foreigner because I assimilated well. the cultures have similarities regardless of religion and family values. But for sure Peruvians will never eat Balut and Bagoong and Filipinos will never eat Rabbit and Guinea pigs (yum, yum) People thought my dad is Mexican but he is not, there is a stereotyping in out country that all Hispanics are Mexicans and all Caucasians are Americans. But its a good place for foreigners to live. Specially the retirees because the cause of living is cheap. Republicans from America will kinda love it here because in a way most Filipinos are kinda Republican by mentality and belief.

Republicans are anti-Gay marriage, Anti-abortion, Very religious and conservative. They will fit in in our country.

I'm American and I honestly don't think that I could imagine to live in another place in the world. The main reason for this is because of the fact that I'm comfortable with the language and culture in my country. However, I do like to travel and I would like to have the opportunity to visit all kinds of different places during my lifetime. I've had the opportunity to visit France and Italy and that has left me with a desire to visit more countries, but I can't really picture myself living elsewhere.
