my computer was about to crash

that was what i was thinking yesterday. and i was very upset. the programs are starting to get defects.. anyways, i thought it was starting.. in yahoo messenger.
everything was fine except that sometimes some sites hang on the monitor and i had to reboot.. my computer is going 7 years. 
and i was pouring my heart out telling the professor about it. i had to use google talk just to be able to tell him. he said do one thing, download it back. he mentioned US8 and to search from google. but i was afraid because it will be the first time i would download something. i was very dependent on technicians.
he said trust me. so i followed all his directions. it took me 20 minutes to finish downloading. rebooted and started ym. and it worked!
he's my hero!
have you faced any problem in yahoo? do you solve it yourself or with outside help, say a technician perhaps?

Hi tiger,
I had the same problem too regarding my seven year old computer.
Recently, I noticed that YM has the tendency to crash or has a lot of anomalies, from video calls to login problems. I don't know, maybe it is an inherent defect on the software or the OS is not compatible with it. I made it a point not to stay for long on the site to prevent potential hackers. Reinstalling the software also fixes the bugs in it.

For the most part, I consider myself to be ignorant when it comes to working out problems that I am having with my computer. This means that when I am facing any kind of a computer problem at all I will turn to my husband to get him to help me because he is the person in our house that knows how to work on computers. There has never been a time that he has let me down because of the knowledge that he has in hardware and software.

why not upgrade your softwares and hardware.
ALso add some memory, and use updated softwares.
It is good to hear that your computer lasted for almost 7 years,
I am facing problem in YM,
whenever i send a message, nothing appear on my screen, i cannot read anything.
do you what is the problem??

More over you are so special for both of us, a part of our family
You know my son is hardware engineer, he does all maintaince work of our computers, if he is away, then hubby does.
I am happy your 7 year old is revived
