Ground hog day 2011 will soon be here, but will spring?

Do you think there is any truth to the legend about the ground hog? He seems to see his shadow an awful lot! All I know is, I will believe ANYTHING if it makes this terrible winter come to an end. The only good thing about the fact that we in the northeastern US are about to get pounded AGAIN with a snowstorm is that it might hit Punxsutawney, PA right about the time the furry critter is supposed to come out of his burrow--and if it really is snowing that hard, he won't be able to see his shadow, right?

I dont even know why people celebrate this day to me it is just silly. You get a 50/50 chance of him seeing his shadow. It doesnt have anything to do with if there will be 6 more weeks of winter or not. I believe he was wrong this year anyway if I remember right.
