Hey there, mylotters, Soon, I'll be starting on my own and I want to start having fun with food and cooking. I wanted to ask you, if you know any fun food blogs where I can find good recipes for easy stuff. Or maybe websites? Where do you think it's better to look for recipes? Blogs or websites?

Hi calajane, I won't give you any links, since the cooking blogs I follow are in my own mother tongue with relatively specific local recipes, so won't be of much use to you. I just want to say that I prefer blogs for this particular topic, because I'm much more interested in the personal experience of the cook, than in the actual recipe. Recipes I can find all over the Internet, but in a blog, I look for a cook who has the same taste and the same problems as I do. I like to know the blogger shares real-life experiences, and pictures taken in a regular kitchen, not recipes done in the over-stocked kitchen of a restaurant, that would take me days to make at home.

The recipe websites do seem a bit impersonal, don't they? And in regards of where you get your recipes from: why do you think I keep my mom on speeddial? She's an amazing cook and if I ever cook half as well as she... well I'll rock :)
