the best freeware around!

please use this discussion to post freeware programs you found on the Internet that you think others should take a look at, too.
To start with:
VirtualDub: massive freeware program to edit your videos, loads of plugins (filters) and in combination with another freeware called AviSynth it's a must have for everyone who can't afford expensive video editing software! I know what I'm talking about, you can do virtually everything with it!
what freeware do you use/ recommend? Please post a short description of the program also

I know little bit about the freeware. I want to learned about elaborate lesson about the freeware. I need help from all of my Mylot friend. Please help me to learned about the freeware.

Well i use some editing programs and converters such as xilisoft but they arent exactly free. However outside off editing software i use ccleaner to clean my pc, speedfan to test pc's temperatures and fan speeds, bs player for media and power iso for burning dvd's and cd's end using virtual drives and images. There are probably some other programs that i can't thing of but all mentioned are free and very useful so try them if any fits your needs. I'll check your suggestions. It's silly how a 10 second clip can be 400 mb's just because you don't know how to use advanced media editor or converter. Have a great day

Personally I like Malware Bites Anti Malware (mbam) a lot, it's free and secure. Malware bites anti malware scans and protects your pc against nasty malware virusses. I also like any movie converter, it does exactly what is says. It converts movies. You can convert all types of movies to all types of movies. There is also a function that let's you specify where you wan't to watch the video on, like ur ipod or psp. These 2 programs I use a lot and come in handy!
