Yes its true music stimulates the brain and gives a positive effect on us.Music is a therapy to the brain and soul. That is the reason why pregnant mothers are usually advised to play classical music while the baby's brain is developing in their womb.

Yes,I agree with that.Besides it's proven. To understand such concept,we should know that our brain is made up of two parts, the right and the left.Left is responsible for analytical skills whereas the right is responsible for imaginative and creative thinking skills. When born, there is no definite bridge between this two hemispheres of the brain, however, when a particular person starts to involve himself or herself in arts like music, there are connections between both parts, where the brain may work as one organ definitely in solving problems.I am currently taking a degree in pharmacy,so it kinda' helps me when it comes to this.Besides, this theory works on me too, since I'm playing with a band, and it turns out that I can remember things much better when I'm involved in music. One more thing,I found one phrase when I was reading a math book, where great musicians are excellent mathematicians. For example,Mozart and Beethoven. Hope this helps in explaining your discussion!

Hey I've actually read about some studies where they concluded that people that played instruments had better overall problem solving skills. Probably because learning about music is so much different than anything else. Its very unique.
