I would definitely work abroad. In my current situation, I'll go to any country and work with any kind of job as long as I earn enough money to saved for my family's future. I ask this because I have a friend, who is about to leave the country and work in Africa as pipe fitter. But, just today he told me, he is not going abroad. He quited the job just before the day he will fly to Africa. His reason was, he don't like to go far from his family. Well if I am in his shoe, I'll definitely take the job. My friend is also a poor guy like me, but then I respect his decision. The good thing he did, was to quit the job when he was still in the country!!! What about you? Will you take the job?

I am ready to go any where and look for a better paying job. However, as long as I am concerned I don't think I will get a higher compensation anywhere out for the job what I am doing now. Because I got promotions and increments for many years and if I go anywhere else, my promotions and increments won't be considered and I feel stick on the job what I am doing and the place where I am working is a nice environment and very good place to work. SOme years ago, I planned to go out of country and I got the appointment letter also. But unfortunately my passport was held up and I could not join for the job in time. [The person who took my certificates and money run away and I had to spend more money and time letter on to get back my papers in hand]. Thank-s

its depend on the people, my friend. people which thinking money oriented, anywhere, anytime where ever they go, money will be lead them, all the way will be do, just for money. but, people thinking family oriented, want no far away from their family, anything will give the best for family, can see family every times, everyday, no cost/low cost. but, if i have change to work abroad and salary is good for my family, i wanna my family accompanies me to work abroad. I am now working abroad. There's no planned before to go out in my country until I felt difficulties in my financial status specially after I got married and I think the responsibility is going high. Not only for my parents and siblings but now I have my own family that dependent on my hardwork and my support. I decided to go abroad last year and after 2 months of waiting my Visa it was arrived and now I am almost a year working. So far, the lifestyles of my family is different because of the salary I received monthly. Although it's hard to be away from the family but I need to sacrifice for the sake of my loveone's. I didn't think that I will stay longer working abroad because as of now I started a business that might support me soon when I will return to my home country. It's different to live around your family than working abroad that no body cares you specially when you got sick.

Nope. It never crossed my mind. I am contented working in my country no matter how difficult life can be here. A lot of my countrymen are working overseas and most of them I hear, that if there are just enough local employment they would just go home and work. What I am looking forward is traveling overseas, but work, nah. There is no better place like home.

I will definitely take the job if it will offer a higher salary than what I am getting here in the Philippines. It is also worthy to sacrifice sometime for the family's sake. It's just a matter of time, save and then if you have enough savings then you can already choose if you will continue working outside the country or not.

Many times I´ve thought like you. But when I am at the point of making a real decision and when I think of leaving my family, I quit, just as your friend. My family is everything to me. I can´t be far away of them =(. Even when they make my angry, or when we´re having a lot of money troubles... They are everything, I mean it. Blessings! ... Dainy

I would definitely work abroad if I had the opportunity to. I mean, I love my family, but I'm still young and would LOVE to travel and experience new things. Plus, I don't have anything like kids or a long-term boyfriend/husband I would stay home for. Pretty much I have nothing to lose. I wouldn't really want to be a pipe-fitter but if it were in Japan...Or anywhere in Europe..(etc) I would love to do pretty much whatever. That would be AWESOME.

I'd only take a job overseas if part of the package include my family. Working abroad is the least of my options. I still believe I could earn and support my family while still residing in my country. It may not be a high-paying job, but I'm a very resourceful person and I know I could supplement my meager wages through other means like online work or sales, which I am actually doing right now.

I am working abroad since 2002 and also traveling in different parts of the globe. I may not be a typical Filipino as I don't like to stay in our country. I have other options in the Philippines but I prefer to stay in other countries. I am single and no kid but I have my parents there in the Philippines. In 2006, I managed to have my brother join me here and after two years he was able to take his whole family. I am working abroad not only for the money but also for comfort, experience and adventure. The loneliness that most Filipinos are referring to is something that I never felt at all. I was able to manage my time and my recreation. In fact, my time is not even enough for all the things I would like to do. For those Filipinos who needs more income to support the family, I would rather advise to get the oppotunity if something opened outside the Philippines. But they should bear in mind that they are going away from their family to work and have a brighter future and not to end up broken home.

I would definitely work abroad in my current situation. I mean, I do not have a family to support to thats why. And I would love to go to different places, visit their tourist spots, study their culture and language. Maybe, your friend has a very good reason why he does not want to go abroad. I've left the country for 2 months, and I was always alone, and it got me depress 'cause I know, when I am in my country everything is wonderful and happy even if you have less money.

OMG ! Wow he was smart enough haha. I think it won't work always, sometimes contracts have rules and items. In some cases if you quit the job after arriving to the country they make you pay for the plane ticket, etc. Be careful, never works so easily.
