I just remembered when I was pregnant and was put on bedrest. When I was on bedrest during my first trimester, thus, I was forced to eat fruits. I'm not a fruit-eater by the way. I know that the fetus needs nutrients most during its first trimester. While I was searching for the fruit that contains most vitamins and minerals beneficial to an unborn child, I discovered the kiwi fruit. Aside from being a rich source of vitamin C, it contains large amount of folic acid which is good for the development of the baby's brain and nervous system. However, there were warnings that it may cause allergic reaction on the mother and the unborn. Nevertheless, I decided to eat the fruit everyday. Now I have a healthy and beautiful baby girl. Have you tried eating the kiwi fruit while pregnant?

When you are pregnant, it's essential to consider what you are eating. Even if you are eating for two, longing chili dogs smothered in nacho cheese and jalapeños or a double cheeseburger with bacon, pregnancy is the ideal opportunity to maintain or start implementing good eating practice. Lots of of the vitamins and minerals needed in a pregnant woman's diet can be found in fruit, so consider it your best friend for the next nine months – or more if you are nursing. Folic acid is significant to help the development of the baby's brain and spine and helps stop neural tube defects like spina bifida," Folic acid is also in strawberries, dates, peaches, apricots and raisins.

Hi! I did eat lots of fruits and vegetables during my pregnancy but I just could not resist the pizza, burgers, fries and chocolates. Thank God, I had a healthy pregnancy. Thanks!

I have a vegan diet and do eat lots of fruit and vegetables. I take vitamin supplements: multi vitamins, vitamin B12, omega and iron. It is interesting to hear about kiwi fruit having so much vitamin C and folic acid. In pregnancy it is important that the lady gets enough folic acid in her diet. My son is three years old. He is disabled. He has got spina bifida and hydrocephalus. I think you were sensible to eat many fruits during pregnancy for your baby's development. In my next pregnancy I took extra folic acid to make sure I had enough of it for my baby daughter.

Oh I ate also lots of apples and grapes then. Cannot go wrong with apples... "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", as the saying goes. And grapes because of the antioxidant content. Nice to know that you have a healthy and sturdy son. Thanks!

Hi. I am a person who loves to eat fruits all the time. So during my first pregnancy, fruits are what I ate the most. I was feeling very nauseous and I could not have anything other than that. But still, they were my main choice all the time. I ate a lot of pomagranates, apples, oranges, mangoes, raw mangoes, bananas, grapes and watermelon. Lots and lots of watermelon. And of course, a little of all the other fruits as well. Kiwi fruit is available in my country, but it is very expensive. So, the normal middle class person would not be able to buy much.

Oh is that so? In our country, kiwi is more expensive than the other common fruits but not that much. Thanks!
