In the Philippines, one of the delicacies their which is always present in every fiesta is pig blood or "Dinugu-an". It is made up of pig blood. Is it good for the body? Does pig blood contain vitamins? Most consumers are Catholics because eating animal blood is not against their religious belief.

For other religions, eating animal's blood is forbidden and I was told that it is also written in the Bible, but in the old testament. I am eating "Dinugu-an" without guilt. I believe that with the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, we no longer live under the law, we are now covered by the grace of God. And there is also a story in the Bible where the Pharisees are criticizing some people who do not wash their hands before eating. Jesus answered that there's nothing dirty that gets into the mouth but what comes out of the mouth is the one filthy as it came from the heart (this may not be accurate on the wordings but the thought is the same). I made it a habit that I always say grace before meal and ask God to cleanse the food that I have to receive. So any dirt with the food will get cleansed by the Holy Spirit. This is my spiritual belief.
As to the nutrients of the pig's blood, I have no idea at all. What I know is that pork contains a high cholesterol level.
When i traveled to the UK, in the northernmost part of England, the English have a delicacy that they call Black Pudding and I was told that is made out of horse's blood. I did not try it. It is not only in the Philippines that animal's blood is being eaten.

Some people break all of God's commands. They always find an excuse for doing it. He tells us not to kill but they kill all the time and say they are doing for their country. Whom do we want to please and obey?

I like a dish made with animal blood and fried onions. It´s exquisite and we serve it wirth boiled potatoes. We also use a lot a sort of sausage filled with blood. We eaither boil it in water (although it has a prior preparation, or we rost it when we have a barbecue. YUMMY!!!
Although I live in a relativly catholic country (not my belief) I have never heard of anyone not eating them because their religion prohibits them. But there are people who just don´t like it (my gain
