what is your sound card?? it is built in or a sound card?? try to know what brand or model of your sound card and try to find it to net and download and install it maybe because ur driver was corrupted so that it will not work properly..

If your sound card is buildt into your motherboard, it may have Irq conflicts with another PCI add-on card. Also, you should check your settings in the BIOs & make your on-board sound card is activated (enter BIOs when you boot/reboot computer). Like a few others have mentioned, you may have to get a new driver from the motherboard (e.g.:Asus, Arock, Intel, etc.)or computer manufacturer's website(e.g.:IBM, Dell, Gateway,HP,etc). Sometimes you can correct driver errors with a simple "Restore" to an earlier time before the problem occurred. If you re-install the O/S and still have problems the problem lies in your motherboard, and you may have to disable the onboard soundcard & install a PCI soundcard (starting around $5/including shipping on ebay). If you go the new soundcard route, check to see if sound driver cd comes with item or if there is a place to download drivers. Hope this info helps you in your quest for the Holy Grail (lol). Hi sammy, I have this client whose unit did not accept any sound driver from Realtek or its mainboard chipset. It stumped me for a week until I got one from Cadenza. It was Intel model of course, yours is from AMD which may have a specialized chipset. Like they said, reinstall your OS and if doesn't work try using other sound drivers. If it doesn't work at all, install a third party sound card with the corresponding driver that goes with. Hope this help.
