Are there any sites where you don't have to bid to get freelance work?

Getafreelancer, odesk, and others make free users bid on jobs. Are there any sites where you can freelance work easier, I know there's a need for quality control, but there are so many freelancers now. It's difficult to find any kind of jobs. I know microworkers, short task and those sites, but i want real freelance work.

I am afraid there is no such freelancer site which doesn't have bidding option..the freelancer module is based on bidding option for the comfort of employers and workers.you can get small task job like clip editing, language translator, address search, picture rating etc on mturk.com..its a Amazon site and pays through check.

I relate to what you are saying…I don’t like bidding for work either and I’ve been looking for something different too but so far I have not come across anything…I can certainly let you know if I ever do…The only way to make ‘real’ money writing is to approach magazine editors and submit work but it is pain staking and slow waiting for them to get back to you. I managed to sell a few articles to an Australian parenting magazine and was paid $350 for each piece which is not too bad. All I need is a lot of jobs like that or a regular gig somewhere…Here’s hoping…Good luck to you on your endeavours, hope you find what you are looking for.
