I have always been fascinated with his guitar playing skills since his Extreme days.I have my own guitar but not as good as Nuno.He is not even the typical rock guitar guys who are rough. He is just so sweet and nice. He's got a very pleasant voice, just listen when he speaks - not about his singing voice though, not to mention a very interesting face.He is lovable.I always listen to his Midnight Express...

Nuno is great! It's too bad he's never really had a band that was worthy of his playing. Extreme? Come on! lol He's also a great guy personally. Back when I was doing security for concerts, I got to drive him and a couple of other Extreme members back to their hotel in my minivan. They were all pretty cool.

I agree, he was a really decent guy, very down to earth and a hell of a sense of humor. I would also agree that extreme did nothing to showcase his playing, he would have been much better off in a band like Dream theater or Symphony x. Though, Mourning Widow probably showcased his talent much better than Extreme did.

Bettencourt was definitely one of the premier guitarists of the 90's. Even though I was already a pretty established player by that time, I still adopted a few techniques of his and I feel it did improve my playing noticeably. I picked the tricks up when I was learning Extreme's "decadence dance". I met him for the first time about 20 years ago, great guy. He did some work on an album for a friend of mine, laid a few guest guitar tracks for him. The album never went anywhere though. I also got a chance to see him again about 12 years ago at a show in Manchester, NH. He was with a band called "Mourning Widow". Didn't get a chance to talk to him that time though.
