Why do people say whatever is there in our destiny happens?

Hi all, Why do people say this? when we haven't seen our destiny, isn't it that it is we who are responsible for whatever has happened or what ever will happen? How can one's destiny be totally positive or negative , isn't there any way to correct our self and progress if at all we have some flaws? Some people blindly believe in destiny, astrology and so on... Even my mind is so much immersed in thoughts related to this these days. One astrologer has predicted me recently that I have no happy married life and said that that is in your destiny and you cannot do anything about it, he said your nature is dominating , aggressive and that is also your destiny , and you cannot really change it completely. even if you have to change it, you have to recreate yourself. How can a person totally recreate his/her self? Ever since I have been told this by that person, I just think about this only day and night. Why can't I change my destiny, even if I have done mistakes or sins earlier, why should god punish me like that and so on.. I always desired for my life to be happy like others but these words by someone are really making me sad and making me lose confidence in myself. I know I need to change myself, but recreating myself totally is quite impossible right? So friends, can someone let me know what you mean by destiny? and can we really change it if we struggle to change it?

Destiny is not predicted but it is created. I believe that our destiny still relies on our hands. It's still our choice what we wanted to become. For example, having a happy married is a matter of working it out. You will not have a happy married life if don't do anything about it. I suggest that you stop coming to those astrologers because they're not a God to tell you what will happen to your life. Only God knows what will happen to us and it depends on our choices in life. That is why we have free will to choose what we want to have. If you want to be happy, then choose to be happy, do things that will make you happy.

What you said may be right, but there is something called as our destiny too, everything doesn't really happen only with our efforts at all times right? else, miracles, etc wouldn't certainly happen. But we do know about something called as law of karma and destiny right? Sometimes we get annoyed when we see things happening in mysterious ways which we never thought of. Sometimes people keep on troubling us and we never knew as to what we did for them for them to behave in such a way. If we really believe in the concept of past life, we never know what we did in our past life that brings before us people who always dislike us, take revenge on us and so on right. Sometimes we may question god while praying like 'why did this happen to me?', what is your view on all this?

Yes, I also felt that many times, why did this happen to me, why does god wants to punish me alone. But then, now am back to normal state, I can't really curse anyone or blame anyone. I cannot really do anything for whatever has already happened, only thing in my hand is to see to it that I don't lose myself whenever something happens in my life. My past experience must make me bold enough to start a new life and move on..

The same situation also happened to me before wherein I asked God "why did this happen to me?". What I don't understand is why you've been troubled by someone? Isn't it there's something in your life that you haven't released, say for example forgiveness. This usually makes a person troubled because it kept him being hunted by his past. Forgive those people who troubles you and pray for them also. Release the hurts that's inside of you because sometimes it's our past experiences in life that keeps us bounded and feel this way. Let go and search more for God in your life.

There are just some people who believe completely in predestination that is what will happen in our lifetime has already been determined by fate. It is the same as when somebody says " it is written in the stars". It's really up to us on how we take it.

But my question is 'do stars really have to do something with our fate?', Can we change our fate if we knew that we are not destined to something?

I said some people do believe but I do not, basically we become what we are by what we do and how we handle situations, but there are also some things we have no control of like for example: being born to a rich or poor family, or being born with a physical or mental handicap. I did not say we cannot change our lot if we were born this way, it's just that we had no control when it happened so some people make fate an excuse.

i think maybe there's no ideas to solve their problems when people say destiny.i never believe destiny even if i can't change anything, because i think the reason is the lack of ours in some parts.

From my point of view there is no destiny because every human being is free to decide for himself. If there would be a destiny, that means that we are simple robots who follow some instructions. The life is given to you to be lived as you want!

Destiny is word just meant for people who cannot accept their defeat. Otherwise i dont think it has got anything to do with our success or failure. What we do turns out to be a destiny and we can mould it ourways.

What you said is right deny, when we haven't seen something called as destiny, how can we say that there is some destiny, even if it is, doesn't god listen to those who really want to change themselves? He is the most merciful right.

I understand how you feel. In fact, I'm not a big fan of fortune-telling or astrology predictions because when they give forecasts, it's as if these forecasts couldn't be changed anymore and are ought to happen no matter what. I still would like to believe that man is given the power to control his life and make choices. What's the sense of being created when everything is already planned. I believe that God (or whatever supreme being you believe in) gave man the freedom and ability to direct the course of his life. I once had someone give me some predictions about my life and it wasn't that good. I was troubled by it. Since then, I refuse to let my life be dictated by destiny or fate.
