Suspicious activity for this account?

I was trying out myLot's search engine looking for an old friend which apparently is not internet savvy or too good to be searched. Either way I tried several combinations of the details I know about my friend including adding facebook and all. I received a notice that i was awarded 10 cents for my search and then after several more searches I received a suspicious activity for this account please try using search again later... Has this happened to anyone before? And what should I do about it? I was genuinely searching for facts maybe I should just use google instead...*sigh* And I was pleasantly surprised with the reward to boot!

You searched too fast. Need to take a few second break in between. I did do that once before and was befuddled, especially since I could not do any more searches for the rest of the day. I love this search because most of the things I am looking for do come up.

Yea h I guess that's the most logical assumption, searching too fast may have triggered the program. I was refining my searches when my search phrases were not showing me the results I was expecting, maybe having similar key words in succession and the time interval triggered the warning.

That happened to me. Was searching for something and the results were not near the thing I wanted so I did the search over, and over because results were not good. Then they suspended me for the day.

Yeah, I guess its the system security which was triggered in a seemingly abusive use of the mylot search engine. I have now been using mylot searches regularly and if I don't get the results I want after a few searches I change search engines in order to prevent from triggering the security system again.

I gave up on the mylot search engine because I found it to be useless. Even when I was searching mylot discussions for a discussion I had seen before (but not replied to) and I put two words from the title of the discussion into the search bar, it couldn't find it! I do a lot of research to write articles for Demand Studios, and the mylot search bar has never turned up a relevant result on the first page. It's sad, because with all the searching I do I could get a nice reward...or maybe I would just get my account cancelled for "suspicious activity".

I guess the search engine really need some work. After all, its juts an accessory to the whole myLot experience right? And its powered by yahoo, so I guess its a little lower than yahoo?

I have read so many discussions from members here with the same situations as yours. From what I understand is that after an hour you can re-use it and many say they get that message for a long time and have never been banned. So I would be confident in saying it is okay to continue to use it, and when you see the message just do not use for an hour or so. If I received that message I probably would not use until the next day. Best of luck and happy searching.

I'm with you! If I receive the message again, I'll stop using it for at least 12 hours. There are other search engines right? none that pay... but some get better results It does appear to be a common occurrence perhaps its the tie in between searches and it regularity that is measured by the program.

Its good you earn 10 cents. Mylot admin is strict in terms of using mylot search. Since we can earn money thru that feature. Continous using mylot search might get you in trouble. Try to pause once in a while. That's what you can do.
