What would you get when you put an Oscar winner on a television series?
Fan's of the prolific actress Kathy Bates from Misery, Primary Colors, PS I Love You and legal television series, may find this new series an award potential.
The series premiered on January 17, 2011 revolves Harriet Korn (Kathy Bates) an ex-patent lawyer who was recently fired from her cushy job and forced to search for a fresh start. A curmudgeon herself, who just does not believe that things happen for a reason, she soon find herself being in the middle of circumstances which brought her an assistant, an associate, a client who then became her paralegal.
With a real delightful casts like Jenna Backstorm (Brittney Snow), Nate Branch (Nate Corddry) and Malcom Davies (Aml Ameen) coming together to form a unique law practice with Harriet in a rundown shoe store in Cincinnati which incidentally goes by the name "Harriet's Law and Fine Shoes". A relevant series which says about the unexpected and life's curve balls coming at us, this legal comedy comes highly recommended.
Have a nice time watching and do let me know your feedback.

Dear skysuccess,
After reading what you wrote, I am excited about it.
My second sister loves legal comedy or any legal-law
related drama. She watched the Singapore produced -
"The Pupils" and she enjoyed it very much. I will
suggest to her to watch "Harriet's Law and Fine Shoes".
I believe she will love it and having Oscar winner in
this television series will definitely a 'bonus'.
Thanks :)

Iriene88,
It's been quite sometime since I last saw your post, I hope all's well with your family and you.
Oh, compliments of the season.
Well, I am sure your sister is going to like this but let me encourage you to watch it. The show is really very different from the previous legal sits like Practice, Good Wife and etc..
Anyway, do let me know if you've watched and liked it.
All the best for the Year of the Rabbit.

I haven't had the opportunity to catch this show yet, but you've shared so much more about it than I already knew, which makes me want to watch it more. I haven't recorded any of the first episodes on my DVR so I guess that I am going to have to look online and see if I can find the pilot. I've not found a television program that I can't live without since ER went off the air in 2009 so I am always looking for something that I can't stand to miss.

dorannmwin,
Let me assure you that this is a very much different legal sitcom you've heard about or watched.
Kathy Bates is really a good actress here and the producers are legal sitcom vets. So, do have a ball with this show.

This looks like a really funny show, and I'd love to watch it. Unfortunately it's on at the same time as Castle on ABC and I do not have a way of recording shows.. so I just can't watch it right now. :(

Ah! Another Castle fan...
Well, if you'd like you can catch it online during your spare time.

Hubby and I are debating getting a DVR so we can record it. I missed The Biggest Loser Tuesday night because I was working :(
Oddly, I'm not a big fan of watching TV shows online.. I know, weird, but I'm just unusual like that, LOL.
