Radio comedy scripts

I've recently been listening to comedy sketches on bbc radio 7. I.ve never listened to them before, but I have found them really funny and entertaining, Now I'm hooked, I like the slickness off them, and the fact that you use your own imagination means that the humour is a lot better than the standard that is found on T.V. (especially british sitcoms). Anyway it got me thinking and it's something that I would like to get involved with. However I don't know where to start or hoe to write a script. I was hoping that somebody here might be able to give me some advice or offer some starters. By the way I'm an electrician with no experience of writing except to write a best mans speech and my own grooms speech(both were funny, so I've been told). Any help would be much appreciated.
