Do you drink enough water everyday? I know I don't, so for people who does, can you give me tips on how to consume 8 glasses of water a day. I feel bloated whenever I drink 1 glass. The most that I was able to drink was 5 to 6 glasses. Is that ok? Are juice drinks counted or does it have to be pure water? I really find it hard to drink 8 glasses especially when it's cold and you don't perspire, I don't feel thirsty. I know I need to take it, I'm not getting any younger and I know it's good for me. So guys help me out on this one.

My doctor told me that for most people four glasses of water a day is fine because most of the foods that we eat contain water anyways. I had been trying to drink eight glasses a day and it just made me feel sick. The doctor said it is possible to get something called water poisoning because the body becomes imbalanced from drinking too much water. He told me that it is best to drink water but juice is ok, just avoid drinking pop all the time because it will dehydrate you.

Yeah, drinking too much pop is bad for health. Water and juice are fine. There are a lot of ways to get water. Such like eating vegetables or fruits, drinking milk, and so on.

I don't drink whole glasses at a time, instead I have small water bottles all over the place, and I have made it a habit to take a sip whenever I see one of them. This works pretty well for me.

I agree with you. I don't think drink a whole glass one time is a good idea. Because that's too much. Separate into small bottles and drink more times, it's a much better way.

i make sure that i drink a glass the first thing in the morning. Then i have a cup of green tea which would count as drinking water. you just need to make sure you have an intake of liguids that doesn't include things like soda, and juices filled with sugar. if you try and drink your first two glasses first thing in the morning that's great. you are sleeping for 8 hours and your body needs tha water to get a great jump start for the day. have a glass of water with breakfast, lunch, and dinner and now you are up to 5. and have two glasses at leasat two hours before bed. and don't forget you had that green tea, so now you are good for the day

I don't personally think you need to worry whether or not you drink enough water. In my opinion, eat enough and drink enough. I don't know where u get that from, but that is just a recommendation. During hot weather, I would want to drink more since our body would dehydrate easily.

I have often wondered about this question. Water evaporates so much faster in hot areas. In fact, water disappears so much faster in tropical countries than in cold countries. Even more is the fact that the people in tropical countries sweat more than those in cold countries. My question is, howcome, our schools teach us that we should drink at least 8 glasses of water only? If it applies to tropical countries, how can it apply to cold countries. If it applies to cold countries, how can it apply to tropical countries? It makes me wonder.

I need also to drink more water. I find if I a have my water bottle filled and next to me at my work station I will drink more water. I am trying to lose some weight so I try to quench my thirst with water instead of something sugary like pop or juice. It has been hard because I never crave water when I am thirsty usually it is something carbonated. But I have made the effort and I know water is much better and I need more of it each day. I probably have around 4-6 , 8oz glasses per day!

The only thing that counts as glasses of water are glasses of water. Anyway i dont drink that many and i dont know of anybody that does. I donate plasma and every time they do the finger stick im always hydrated enough. So i think its perfectly ok not to drink that much water. In fact i believe if i did drink that much id be spending 1/2 the day in the bathroom.

i hope i am not drinking 8 glasses per day.daily i will think i have to drink,i should drink them, but because of laziness sometimes i am taking less glasses daily in this winter season as like u . in summer i will take juices, water, milk etc which will be more than 8 glasses. as we dont drink enough water,we will not get proper digestion and we will be dehydrated which leads to many other health problems. u can count fruit juices also .but u should take any fresh juices, without sugar. and u have to avoid caffine, preserved drinks, and any high calorie additions u make. water can help us in reducing weight by metobilising fat .water reduces fat deposits. as water is forced thru kidneys ,which removes excess sodium. if u are on average weight u should take Eight Glasses of Water.if u are overweight u should take extra one glass per 25 extra lbs weight.u should increase water quantity,if u are staying in hot or cold places or if u exercise more.

You could try drinking a cup of water every hour. That way you're consciously keeping track of the amount of water you consume and when you're consuming it. By the time an hour has gone by, you shouldn't be too full to drink another cup. If you feel too bloated drinking a whole cup at once, then you could also carry a water bottle with you everywhere just to sip out of. Then by the end of the day, you'll know how much water you've had and it will allow you to make goals to get closer to eight cups. It will help curb your hunger and make you feel better.

HELLO Neriz, the 8 glasses of water a day is not actually the correct amount of water to drink, you need 2 Liters of water a day. Health experts advice breaking that amount down into 8 glasses of water for convenience. Now don't be frightened by the amount of water, I know for someone who can barely swallow 5 glasses a day 2 Liters sounds like the sea to consume. I'll walk you through it. Water is an important factor in our daily health cycle, as the body tends to use it like a car uses petrol. So we need to refill often. But just like a car engine, if the engine (our stomachs) is clogged and running inefficiently, the oil becomes under utilized and just gets pissed away without doing any benefit. So the key to maintaining health by consuming water is to first cleaning your stomach! The root of all internal diseases is a dirty stomach. Even if your are going regularly and your bowels feel smooth, its not enough as there is definitely something deep inside that needs to get pushed out. So here are the three steps to great health: 1) first use a bowel cleanser to clean out all the years of "trash" in there. 2) buy a bottle (or use a second hand plastic soda bottle)of 500ml. drink 4 of these bottles day, slowly with sips and only when you feel slightly parched or thirsty. Your body is smarter then you so listen to when it talks to you!. 3) Drink one glass of real lemonade a day, not the store brands. Replace the sugar content with a dollop of honey. And please juices and other types drinks DO NOT COUNT. Only drink real pure clean water, avoid sparkling or flavored water as well please. The water content in juices and other drinks is not enough for the bodies sustenance, drink pure water lead a happy life. Remember the key to drinking well is consuming 4 500ml bottles of water a day, it might be hard at first, but after a week it should become second nature. But first and foremost clean out your stomach, that should get rid of the blotted feel you have. Have a nice day!

For me, Yes I am drinking enough water everyday. Before I eat breakfast I drink one glass of water and the after I ate, I drink one glass again. I do this every meal So, all in all I drink 6 glasses. The other 2 glasses, I drink it between meals like merienda time at 9am and 3pm. Or even without meriendas. This is my schedule of drinking water. But then again if I feel bloated, I skip a glass of water. My dad used to drink lots and what happen is the water went to the lungs and that made him hard to breath. Five to 6 glass of water is okay since your in a cold weather. If its really cold, 5 to 6 glasses is enough.

Yup I drink ideally 14 glasses of water a day, juices, fruit drink, etc are counted in that intake, being bloated happens when you drink aot off water in one drinking so you should drink it in portions and as long as you fulfill the 8 glasses it would be fine no matter what time interval it would be. My advice would be just try increasing everything gradually so you wont feel naseous and bloated, it is also very hard for me to drink water before but after I had a problem with me being constipated, I made it a point to drink my ideal water consumption per day.

I think it's quite important everyone to drink water as much as possible - there are many evidences that drinking much water has a positive effect to our body. So I think its better to drink water as much as you can drink!

I definately don't drink enough water. I really try to but the water here tastes terrible. Its well water and has a sulpher taste to it. Its also hard water and difficulton my sensitive stomach. I maybe get 2-4 glasses a day. Its very cold here but also very dry. This makes me thirsty all the time. I do drink some herbal tea. I guess if you count that as water I probably get 4-6 glasses a day. I'm trying to cut out coffee.

Drinking that much water is good for health, no doubt, but it is difficult too. Fill up three 1 litre bottles of water and keep them where you can see them. Every time you see them, take a sip. Make sure that by the end of the day, they are empty. Eat lot of fruits which contain water. Watermelon, grapes, oranges etc all contain more water content. Eating fruits rather than having juices will help you more because they have fibre which is necessary for your body. Take buttermilk(curd mixed with lots of water and a little salt). Prepare more and keep in the refregerator. Have whenever you feel thirsty. Lemon juice can be had several times a day instead of water. But make sure you add half sugar and half salt instead of only sugar. It tastes good as well as does not contain much salt or sugar, so is good for you. Hope these helped.

I do consume 3L water a day. If you want to drink 8 glasses of water then you should have the perseverance to drink so. Or you should have a schedule so that it will be your habit to drink water. Like for example, 30 minutes before you eat your meal, you can drink 1 glass of water, then after a meal. So if you do that, then in a day, you have drink 6 glasses. And you can drink water before you go to sleep. ;)

If you have problems with your weight,it is most likely that you consume more food than water. It's good to consume water, when you sport,20 ml after 1 exervise.A gulp only. The perfect amount, depends on the person, weight, percent of fats and other things. If you stay on the computer all day,you shouldn't consume so much,it isn't necessary.

I think the best way to keep myself drinking is always have a glass of water in my sight. I put a cup on my table just beside my laptop at home, and when I go out, I take a bottle of water with me. You see, I always have water with me. So I drink a lot. It is not about thirsty, drink becomes a habit for me. Maybe you can try this way.

I try to drink 6 to 6 glasses of water a day. You don't have to drink one glass of water in one setting. I've tried it before and I know the bloated feeling. Drink little amount from time to time. What I do is I always have a glass or a jug of water beside me, so that I get to drink from time to time. Even of you don't feel thirsty, just take a sip every now and then. I think juice and other beverages are included in our fluid intake but none of them beats water. Water cleanses our body, flushes out toxins, and aids in digestion.
