Promising Manish Pandey was found on the wrong side when he was handed a 4match ban in the 4th IPL alongwith 25% of his fees on a day when his South Zone team won the Duleep trophy. Its a pity that the youngster, the 1st Indian to hit a century in IPL getting a suspension for breaching player guidelines, the IPL governing council has acted tough and in a right was has sent signals that no one can mess...

Hi Stardustcdsd, Manish was approached by Pune Warriors and he was interested in their offer. RCB complained to BCCI as he rejected RCB offer! But some BCCI official was saying that Manish has approached other teams by himself. What is exact truth nobody knows. But the fact is he rejected RCB offer and accepted Pune Warriors offer. According to some rules BCCI punished him by banning for 4 IPL mathes but allowed him to join Pune team. Happy Mylotting!

Yes Sad indeed ! Manish is among my favourite young cricketers. More for his fielding than batting. In a country filled with corruption & BCCI bosses who symbolize politics & corruption, a player gets punished for seeing higher pay. I know it was against the rules but how stupid are these rules. Is't this a democratic country? BCCI is behaving as if they own these players. On a good note , I must say that at least manish will be seen in action after his four match ban ! another IPL century from him will be an apt response from him to BCCI & Vijay Mallya !

That is infact a severe thing done by the young player... He did something very much illegal that he could have been banned for life from the IPL but he's pretty much lucky to get away with it... Hope he never does that again...

It is indeed pity the player of Manish Pandey's caliber should get this treatment. I was really moved when I read this news in morning paper. While I.P.L. governing body can not be blamed, They have to retrospect their rules which made them take such a drastic action. It is really unfair that Pandey gets just 20 lacs while his compatriot Saurabh Tiwary, may be equal or shade low to him in quality, gets whooping 7.36 crores. Anybody could be frustrated and act the way Manish has acted. They should allow some bidding for even uncapped players to avoid such actions in future. It should not be just the treatment for the illness but the budding out the cause for it is more important.

It is tough, but relatively lenient..considering that Ravindra Jadeja was banned for an entire IPL season for the same reason. But Manish Pandey is right too. How come is he sold at a price of 20 lakh, whereas Saurabh Tiwary, who has stats not as impressive as Pandey, sell for over $1M???
