Do you find that you spread little bitty pieces of your crafting all over your house? I just vacuumed the stairs and there were little tiny stars that I had cut out...and several other things that must have followed me from the craft room! LOL...so today I am getting all those little bitty peices cleaned up including a heart that lays by the bathroom door! LOL....do you spread your crafts throughout the house? When I quilted I would find sting all over...myself and the house!

Since I see clients in my home I absolutely have to keep the public areas of my house tidy and sparkling, so I have a "crafts closet" and a sewing room. I have a workspace and use that exclusively--of course that means that as I move from project to project, I have to tidy constantly.

I clean house for an older lady who makes quilts. I always joke with her that i can tell if she's been quilting in the past week, because her mats have lots and lots of thread pieces all over them. LOL
I think it is hardly possible to do crafts without making some kind of mess. That's part of making crafts.

Hiya Jill,
Well because as you know I don´t do Crafts not like you do. But I was finding bits of thread all over the Floor it was coming from somewhere and it was from a Jacket that one of my Sons had bought.
End of the mystery at least I knew where it came from (grin). But I did not tell them as when they buy clothes they don´t like you telling them that they have bought something a bit faulty in the way it was sewn together. I have tried to give them hints about buying their Clothes sometimes it works sometimes it does not. (grin). Take care now. I love the Story about the Black Cat how funny.

Hiya Jill,
Pets can do funny things like that too. Also not so funny ones like ruin your Living Room Curtains and unravel them thread by thread. But eldest unraveled about half a bed Spread one of those Candlewick ones which belonged to my Mom. Every night he would unravel the threads a little more.
Guess he thought it was just a hobby for him.

Yep, I find small pieces of yarn all over the house. I try real hard to do my crafts in one room but sometimes static electricity causes yarn to cling to my clothes. I pick up all I can see since I'm not so sure it's good to clog my vacuum with yarn.

I find that small items attach themselves to the sleeves of my clothes. Then I transport them around the house where they drop off and surprise me.
And of course the pets enjoy jumping on my work too and spreading it far and wide!
It's quite fun though finding little cheerful scraps of craft material all over. I can't think of a better place for a heart than by the bathroom door lol

Hi, jillhill.....I crochet a lot and usually keep my yarns in a caddy by my chair. But my cat's favorite plaything is a simple string of yarn and she will steal pieces of my yarn and run them from room to room. She'll dig like a doggie to bury yarn strings in her bedding. So I find yarn in some of the oddest places throughout the house.

Between me and my kids (the three big ones at least) we have crafts all over. Some are projects I make to sell, others are for family gifts or just for fun. The kids have stuff they are learning to do as well as school projects, (I home school so all projects and supplies are in the house) as well as my husbands stuff which ranges from motorcycle parts, bows and arrows and stained glass supplies taking over the corners of my dining room,. I said my next house will have a library/classroom and a craft garage to store everything!

When you are crafting, you do your best to keep everything organized. it will be funny to find a piece of your crafting has followed you around the house. You son't even notice these things until you are doing something else. @2004cqui (2812)

That's hilarious to me. It would not be to Mr Clean (my hubby). He and I are constantly running into recipe cards though. Last clean out, under microwave, one zucchini bread recipe card. Too late. Spring is on our door step! I'm thinking barbecues and berries! Yeah spring!

Jill I had to laugh when I read your discussion.
yes I cross stitch and I will be stitching and get up to get a drink or go potty and come back and my needle is there and no floss.
My husband will come home and pull a string off me and I will say thats where that went!
my husband goes to bed early since he has to be at work early so I will be crafting in my bedroom relaxing and when he comes to bed if I am not ready to go to sleep, I come back out to the living room.
you have no idea what gets dropped from one room to another!
So yes you have plenty of company I am sure.
I want to move in an RV so I have to stay put LOLOL!
But my worst enemy is losing my scissors.
