Where's the best place to create a free blog? I'm looking for a place which has a easy template preferably whilst also allowing for option of applying advertisements. Where's the best place for me to start?

2. www.wordpress.com
3. www.livejournal.com
4. www.xenga.com
5. www.blog.com
All these sites are free and you can start your blog easily.

Actually I use none of them. I have my own webhosting and a custom Wordpress CMS installation. But this need some technical skill as well has some investment in domain name and web hosting expenses. Having a custom Wordpress installation will give you total control over your blog. If you are serious about blogging I would suggest you to invest for it.

hello stevie
the best free platform to creating new blog is blogger so if u have an email account with gmail.com u'll just need to set it up,however there's wordpress but u have to pay monthly subscription fee .

I also like Blogger the best. I tried Wordpress, but found that Blogger was easier to work with and since I am a newbie, I needed something easy.

I'm also completely new to blogging which is why this is helpful to know I may struggle with wordpress if there layout and features aren't simple to use I'll probably try both in the end to see which works out best for me.

blogger.com and wordpress are the best. i myself like wordpress better. but if you are going to try to make money from your blog, i suggest investing a little bit in the beginning. you should buy a domain name from godaddy which costs around $10 a year, and you should also get someone to host your blog for under $5 a month. this is a must if you want to make money from your blog.

Ok thanks I'll consider looking at potential hosting for my blog although I'm not certain of whether it would be ideal for me in the beginning I think I'll give blogging a try first then see how it goes from there before making any real investments. Is their any specific features you prefer on wordpress to blogger or is just the general layout?
