When I was a little girl I had a Doberman Pincher dog that was so smart her name was Gidget. She was very beautiful. She was a black and brown doberman her coat was very shiny. Her ears were cropped and her tail was bobbed. She sat on the furniture by having her legs on the floor and putting her bottom on the coach. I thought that was so neat. She greeted me in my yard as soon as I got home from school. I liked to find turtles a lot when I was a girl. I would look for them more when I was at a friends house that lived in the country. One time she brought a turtle to me and I thought she was trying to kill it. I got onto her until she did it again and just let it go and then I stopped getting on to her. She was finding turtles for me. One time a snake about bit me and she protected me from it. One day I came from school and she didn't greet me so I was real sad. I was worried about her. I never seen her again. I looked all over the place for years.

There are those special pets in our lives that can never be replaced. I had a schipperke named Skipper when I was a child and he was my best friend. It happened much the same for me but now, I know my family got rid of him. It was never confessed but I remember that Skipper bit a couple of people because he was so protective of me. Anyone could come in the yard..pet him..but if caught sight of me even in the window..he would bite without warning. It has been years since I have been anywhere near as close to a pet but now I have this little Eva..LOL..she chose me and suddenly one day..we become inseperable. She is on my lap right now...I love her.

Thank you for commenting. That is neat how good of a relationship we have with some animals. That's cool how close you and Eva are! What kind of dog is she? She definitely sounds like a small dog since she is on your lap. LOL.

A dog is a wonderful companion. They do become a part of your family, and quite protective as well. I know I would never trade my Pomeranian, and would be sad if anything ever happened to him. The memories you have of your dog are to be cherished. Have you ever had another dog like him since then?

They are good companions. They never get bored of their owners. They keep people from being as lonely too if they don't have anyone. I haven't had a dog like her.I've had a lot of good dogs but not any as good or as smart as her.Thank you very much for sharing your love of your dog. You have a wonderful week!

This is sad.We had a dog who never came back too.Kitkat was my dog named from that commercial from kitkat (the white dog with a brown patch on his eye).We had two dogs in our house and they were brothers kitkat and rata were always playing around the place so we never really bother to look for them because they always do that.Until, one day the dogs were gone playing and in the evening only one came home..rata.Kitkat was never found again,we tried looking for kitkat but we suspect some people might have killed him because our dog had lean body and they were probably eyeing for kitkat. These dog stories are very sad especially when we lose them for some reason.I wish you could just find another dog, even if nothing will compare to gidget.

Thank you for commenting. It is sad when things like that happen. Does dogs get ate in the country where you are at. Is that why you said that your dog had a lean body. I have heard that some countries dogs make good food. That doesn't happen in my country very often. It probably does but they could get in trouble if they got caught. I have got lots of dogs since then but non of them compared to her but nothing probably will. Have a good week.

Gidget sounds like a beautiful and protective dog, truly mans best friend. I also had a loving dog through my childhood. His name was Jagr, a yellow labradore that was one of the most beautiful and exciting dogs that I've ever encountered. Truly sparked my heart every time I walked into the door from school.

Thank you for commenting. That's what I was thinking .Someone seen her and took her or something bad happened to her. I was hoping if someone did take her that they took good care of her.

Thats so sweet, I have had more cats than dogs. But I have had a few dogs that meant very much to me. I had one German Shepard mix and I just loved her. She was named Muffy and she was definatly my dog. I was there when she was born as her mom was our Shepard dog named Heidi. I was coming in from school when she was in labor so I sat with her the entire time comforting her. Muffy was so cute I remember her little fat chubby self as a pup. Just running along with her siblings. She would sit outside the bathroom door even, just to wait for me. I had a few other dogs after that that I really liked and now I have a new one. Her name is Co Co and she is the most adorable puppy ever. She is smart already at 2 months can sit and stay and stays right with me everywhere I go.

Thank you for commenting. It sounds like you've had a lot of close dogs too. That is great. That is neat how smart CO Co is already for being so young. It is neat how close an animals relationship can be to us.
